Z3ta+ has a pretty decent superstrings preset

u mean that "superstring" preset in factory soundbank? i think its poor... there is some good presets to FM7 - like in Javi soundbank >> http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=237463

hi again

at first thenks for the replies so far..did some seach but to be honest the tutorials there doesnt have to do with the sound i have in mind...it is the massive riff played in the track "superstrings" by cygnus x...if anybody has the track in mind will get what sound i am talking about...

you're talking about the melody ?

hes talking about the supersaw lead. that huge fuzzy jp8000 sound that everyone seems to love around here. except the people that loved it long ago and now hate it because too many people seem to love it.

if you have a jp8080 you just set the oscillators to supersaw, detune them. set the filter cutoff to low pass and open it fully. have a very low attack on the amp envelope, medium decay. 0 sustain and a medium to long release time. those are the basics. you can round it off my making modifications to the filter envelope and/or layering multiple supersaws over each other (jp8080 is 4 parts multitimbral right?). bit of reverb. lot of delay. voila.

imho best vst to make decent supersaw sound is fm7 (Destination pad in javi soundset) or "Supersaw" vst maked by rb2k1...

Adding a chorus or flanger on your supersaw from the JP should get you very close to the superstring in the Rank 1 remix.
