What are your favourites of last year, what style is the set and what do you like about it?

Paul Van Dyk @ The Powerzone 21-8-04.

great set, there were some real burners in there as well as the classic Greece 2000. He also revealed his remix of Freefall.

Didn't hear that many from this year, but the standouts for me were:
Paul van Dyk - Live at Casino (the last party before it closed)
Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream Amnesia Closing Party (Probably my favourite)
James Cosgrove - GDJB competition set (does that count?)

Obviously I mainly heard PvD's sets, but did hear a couple of Tiesto sets (didn't really rock me unlike years go by), two Armin van Buuren sets, one Agnelli & Nelson, several amateur djs and a couple of locals (one of which was farkin incredible), and a few others, not a real cross section though.........

now if were talking sets we've been to, mine would have to be the only one i went to this year. Armin in October i think when he came to Vancouver, BC.

a lot of good sets this year, hard to remember them all.

That I heard: Richie hawtin live @ maida vale for peel sessions.

That I witnessed: Richie Hawtin and ricardo vilalobos back to back @ pressure, glasgow. (this is actually the best set I've ever heard anywhere).

Hardtrance, just completely packed with energy! The track selection just fits my tastes and style perfectly.

Sasha's Aria, Montreal, The Arena, Puerto Rico and Pacha, Ibiza (with JZ) sets were very nice. Also Zabiela's Essential Mix. Other than that it's all been kinda... meh.

I thought Ferry's set from Cali New Years was great... NYD 2005 in Chicago, even better, but I suppose that's 2005 and not 2004... :-)

Sasha at Aria, at the arena, at Guangzhou were pretty good. James Holden at Shake & PvD at Amnesia & Powerzone were awesome imha.
