Matthew Dekay vs. The Proluctors - Bad / What If [Dekay Records]

finally

Bad One of my favs for a long time, been pestering everyone for info on this . Takes a while to build up to the main melody but when it comes you'll know! Piano/guitar likes synths with a distorted/echoey kinda feel and awesome kick drums and some heavy bass

What if More down tempo with the main melody not giving as much bite as Bad. I felt it did drag on a little, but none the less, still gives me a happy feel

Matthew Dekay - Bad [SAMPLE]
Matthew Dekay - What If [SAMPLE]

Out now to buy on 3Beat here in Liverpool and also online

Been digging Bad for a couple of months now, gotta love that badass bassline. What If isn't anything special imo.

Oh, and it's Matthew Dekay & Proluctors

mediocre imo.. Matthew Dekay , Doves & Roob V - Behind Secret Borders / God's Answer is still my fav. recent release from him/them

Bad has to be one of the fattest tunes out! will definitely check out What if!

Matthew Dekay always provides the goods

I liked that Subtle Signs Re-edit that was posted on TA about 3 months ago, .... like the samples too

Bad is such a great tune. This tune has so much energy, can't wait to play this out on a big system!

What If is a pretty decent b-side as well.

Loved Behind Secret Borders/Gods Answer and i'm certainly loving these two tracks from MDK and the Proluctors

Bad - It's defo good! NOT bad at all! Really diggin' this a lot now tho I preferred 'What If' more on the 1st listen. That bassline is sickkkk!

What If - Also a good tune. Very good to dance to, has more of the trancey touch.

Posted by Joca on Feb-04-2005 02:16:

OMG this track is fucking owning me right now! I can see this track doing so major damage in a club.

Same goes for me:
first heard it on his guestmix on ASOT #173 which
was live @ Panama in Amsterdam, been LOVIN it since
The melody is just as sick as the bassline....

What IF is average - also agree.

MATTHEW DEKAY

Clearing The Mind [Unreleased, coming soon on Little Mountain Records]
Deep Show [Unreleased, coming soon on Electronic Elements]
Bad [Out now on Dekay Records from 3beat.co.uk]

there my favs from Matthew anyway, i never liked most of his older stuff too much, those 3 have the catchiest melodies

Posted by Jantjeuh on Feb-05-2005 20:17:

The Deep Show and Clearing The Mind aren't all that imo, prefer his older, more housy, stuff.

Try Symbiosis, Higher Thoughts, Space Mountain Tablet, God's Answer, Time To Think, Intergalactic and Beautiful Monday for starters.

I was just listening to that set a couple days ago and was so frustrated not to know that ID. Thanks, Jantjeuh!

Dekay is a bit of a hit and miss producer for me and I'm not really feeling these two tracks. Bad isn't, ahem, bad but I guess this kind of track works much better in the club. What If, the weaker of the two, just plods along... mediocre stuff from Dekay.

More of that lovely trousiness there.
A seamless blend of house, prog and trance as before.
10/10
When is the vinyl release date?
