Was there ever an original mix released/around such as imagination and you once told me? had a look on discogs and no luck?

yes and no, i think dave dresden is better at answering this, but afaik, there was an "original mix" done, but it was not completed and sounded like the josh gabriel mix (and dave correct me if i'm wrong), then after a while that version was scrapped and the official "original mix" became the g&d mix
