suburban train opener

How do you guys think tiesto/his sound engineer made the synth pads at the opening 9 bars of suburban train? Those are lush

I wish I knew, they are pretty nice aren't they.

My guess is that's the best work of the Jupiter 8... one of tiesto's favs, but it'd be nice to know. (I'm not trying to recreate that synth or anything... just curious)

I know one of the sound designers at Access Created a set of patches for him, apparently, Tiesto can use them exclusively for a year or so, then they'll be available to the public as part of a Tiesto Signature Virus synth package thing. Perhaps sthey're part of that.

This is my best attempt:

I did this in Reason with just a simple Thor synth...

And a bunch of reverbs and an EQ in Live...

Yep, truly epic bump.

It always makes me a little sad when I come across these old threads; SO many names I used to regularly and who were super passionate about the music.

I always wonder what they ended up doing, then I stop being an Emo, and realize many of them are still on here.

no kidding i looked back at some of these threads , and a lot of these lads really knew their stuff, and this was before the whole youtube era, makes me wonder where they are all in life right now as well.

True, but don't underestimate TA; it was places like this that people got that info and there's a ton of really well versed guys on here. Sure there's a bit of bullshit on here but no matter how hard you try, you quite literally can't find a place where questions get answered so on point.

Just look at the rebirth thread right now for a prime example. Also, look at the number of times you see someone post up quite a technical question like "how do I route this group to xxx and add xxx effect" and they get half a dozen smart ways of doing exactly that.
