DM=House JMJ=Trance

I've noticed from reading many bio's and interviews with various deejays/producers it seems that most trance producers grew up on Jean Michel Jarre & Enigma whereas most house producers grew up on Depeche Mode & New Order. I just found that kinda funny. Anyone else notice this?

This explains why everything sounds the same now

Seriously though, I guess it reflects the producer's taste as JMJ and Enigma do have a "trancey" feeling in their tunes

Noooo... German techno producers just altered their sound into trance, not many kids listen to German techno when they're growing up. Trance may be influenced by German techno, but I highly doubt any trance producer grew up listening to German techno, after all it's only a few years older than trance.

i can agree with New Order being the basis of house as it has direct connections with the Hacienda etc. etc.

i still like playing blue monday

yea and the smiths whoever they are... once again proves the stupid theory wrong

the smiths are class, moody 80's rock stuff.

the lead singer has recently made a comeback, with some good songs.

I believe he deserves to be mentioned by name and his name is Morrissey.
