[goa] jex - Karma (God is a Scientist) [updated]

This song has a lot of thought behind it, but I'm not going to bore you with my own thoughts on why, exactly, God is a Scientist. Suffice to say I think He is, and this song encapsulates that notion for me.

Be careful, it develops kinda slowly in the beginning.

jex - Karma (God is a Scientist)

192 kbps | 5:13 (sample) | Made in Fruity Loops

Synths: 3xOsc, TS404 Bassline, Slayer and Audiorealism Bassline. (Yes, I lack sufficent funds for better stuff.)

EDIT: It's a sample now.

I've changed it from that fourteen minute beast to a five minute sample. Please give me some feedback.

I am also into Psy Trance and just listened to your track.

My biggest complain to your track is the that track lacks motion. Hard to explain. I just can't picture this track being played at a psy party.

Anyway, I like many of the sounds in your track, and the arrangement is well put together.

Here are my observations:

1. Kick too low. Increase the energy of the kick
2. Too repetitive. Put more variation

Generally though I think you have high potential as a psy-trance producer...

Keep it up!

Well, let's check your newest baby out.
First of all, my impression is, something's wrong with mastering. I think your track needs to sound "warmer". It really needs some warm sub bass. And maybe that kick is not too weak, but it needs more bottom and more "click", if you know what I mean ... The acidline itself sounds really good, did you do it only with the FL TS404 thing? that's great. However, it doesn't really fit - it's too distorted to work well together with the melodies. I think that's another problem with your mastering on this one, it sounds distorted and screaming. Even if you intend to make it sound distorted, you still have to watch out for frequency balance. I'd say less distortion/resonance on the acidline will do the job... The melodies - I really like them, but maybe a bit of reverb used on the leads would be nice.

Other than that, a track with some nice melodies inside, why don't you post a full version for those who wish to hear long, full tracks?
