What the F~%#...

... is up with Melbourne weather it's supposed to be fucking Summer!!

Posted by A.J. on Feb-02-2005 13:04:

Sydney's weather has been farked as well, although i think summers are supposed to be wetter and stormier than most of us "remember" or expect each year.

We have had some crazy storms the last couple of days....

Posted by Trance Nutter on Feb-02-2005 13:10:

Heard about yours in Sydney today, thems was some huge hailstones!

Yesterday we had a top of about 27 in the morning, and at 6pm it was 7 degrees or something crazy at Mt Lofty (main peak overlooking the city).
Had hail and rain today, a top of 10 at Mt Lofty, about 18 or something I think in the city.

The only week I have off in the forseeable future, and its the coldest weather for February for a while. Getting hotter for the weekend though

So much for global warming

and today i go to worked dressed like an eskimo in 12 degree heat

Posted by Antistatic on Feb-02-2005 13:41:

Posted by Renegade on Feb-02-2005 13:49:

Coldest February day on record down here today apparently. It literally hasn't stopped raining for nearly 24 hours.

CRAZY ENGLISH SUMMER

Posted by Sly_Guy on Feb-02-2005 14:20:

I can't help but snicker at your lousy weather. I've put up with extreme cold for 3 weeks and now we're finally at 'ideal' winter conditions.
-6 and clear. Perfect outdoor winter weed smoking weather. If you exhale slowly and correctly, the cloud of smoke can hang in front of you and be reinhaled......Not to mention the smell doesn't travel anywhere at all as to not attract the po po. Which reminds me, I gotta pick up some fresh stuff today.

we have alternating years. 2003 was very hot & dry from May-September with way below average rainfall and temperatures in the Mid20s for long periods, peaking at about 38c for August. It was really humid and an awful heat to be around in, not like the dry heat I'm used to when I goto the Canary Islands or Med.

2004 was a washout, 2-3 times each months average rainfall and apart from 2 weeks in september which reached the high 20s-early 30s, temps were mainly 18-20c and it was a bit of a downer.

However anybody planning to visit this year, it should be a hot one (by our standards) and well worth it, but they reckon the alternation of years means that 2006 will be poor for anyone saving for that

could be wrong but it pretty much does go -good-bad-good-bad

haha yeah, they do make a big deal about it. I can always remember when I was about 9 or 10 seeing a copy of the newspaper saying "99F" in huge A4 sized letters with nothing else apart from the papers name on the front of it (infact 2003 was the first summer to get near to 100f since 1990)
