hey mate,

here again you have achieved a nice chilly feeling in this track. The sounds you used, you know i've heard them too much already but that's not the problem, they are nice indeed.

if you need some mixing help i can see two problems here:

> check your 150 Hz - 1kHz range, you have some huge zigzags in the spectrum. for instance a peek around 225 Hz, one at 300 Hz one at 450 Hz and another around 590 Hz. This isn't good at all, try and fix this part by tweaking the hi-bass and some of your synths.

> i suggest that you take 1dB off some of your percs/synths, around the 6kHz - 12 kHz part, as there is a "round" peek in this part.

nice track, nice feeling !

thx exe...im excited about your comment...

@jon: ill have a look at those freqs...was too lazy to have look on my pinguin
and about the sounds: you already know that theres something completly different going on...

quality of the track is great maybe kck is a little bit too loud? i think maybe sometimes there should be more elements but overall its very good remix i like it

Posted by Massive84 on Feb-03-2005 16:26:

Nice background sounds.

Dissapointing bass. to weak, way to weak.

The sounds are clear, but then not much is used in this tune, the perc isn't much either, neither dominating.

i wouldnt make a second climax, making it longer than it should be isn't needed.

Kick sounded nice to me. i would increase volume of clap a bit.

melody wasn't really my thing,

Guess that was it.

thx mane and massive!

i hope ill find some time to work on it at the weekend...i will have a look at all mentioned suggestions to improve the remix...
probably an update will be posted soon...

Main part reminds me a bit of x-pander (sasha). I don't think I know the original. Anyways, the track itself is sounding a bit empty. Minimalism is a nice goal, but the sounds used should be fatter then. Imo the kick is too ploppy for a laidback track and the abss needs more power indeed. Lead synth i do like and the track has a nice atmosphere. I'd add more tiny details and a percussion line.

All the luck!

ah u just love airwave don u
this one kinda sounds like ur remix of clear blue :P
but still good
maybe a touch more high (treble) on the synth, and maybe u can make some more variation to really make ur remix stand out more, its sounding really close to the original... try change one melody like the string or something....
but good work m8
love ur stuff

Hey Lars - this is really sweet!

Your synths are so tasty, and have a lot of depth. I think you've done a great job with percs and fx too!

I think the kick needs a little more low end power to it. Otherwise everythings sounds really nice to me.

I love the chilled vibe this has.. it creates a nice relaxing mood. Fine work all around!

Hope everything is going well,
Trevor

k, guys! thx for your support!!!
i had a look at all aspects youve mentioned and improved some parts of the track i guess...
i guess you wont notice them, if you wouldnt exactly compair both mixes, but i tried to improve...
main change is the break where some other perc patterns are going on now...

if you want to download the new version or havent listened to the remix, yet: the link is in my first post! have fun!

feedback is still very appreciated...

Klangzentrum
Hi mate,
Listenin' now... agreeably
But i think u should work more on percs, imo
Well Done

Think you should try working on your the sound quality which seems kind of average in this one, sounds a bit muddy maybe try re-EQing the whole thing, adding some more highs and mid-highs.

I think you should also try working on your percussion a bit more, it's pretty basic the way it is, not enough variation.

Like Sunquest already mentioned, it sounds to similar to the original mix. Almost same lead sounds and defiantly the same melodyI think you should try adding your own unique twist to it, that's what a remix is all about, right?

Not a bad effort overall, keep it up!

I love the original of this song!

I love the kick you used, but I don't really care for the intro being just a open hat... maybe you can have prog house percussion in the intro instead... the close hat that follow is still kind of stale... replace it with a house percussion loop or something

the conga breakdown is kind of cheesey since it doesn't sound like a real conga player.

The main lead rocks!! Good work. This remix would be a hot banger if you just simply changed the hats and the congas.

listening..

I immidietly sence the low BPM.. and the dark atmpshere.. i can hear the Airwave style as well (dont think it was intended) ..very nice bongos there in the break.. maybe make them not too obvious.. the lead-sound is really good and dark.. i really enjoy the chill tempo and the open hat..and the bongos.. u have made a really cool atmosphere to the track, but still, it would be nice to see some more percussions or other elements added to give it more depth, as it seems a bit long..

good production

7.5/10

kick is a bit too loud, and i'm not a hudge fan of it as well... sounds a bit hard for this kind of atmosphere trance...

Drums are a bit weak for my taste, i like it when there's loads more of perc. The perc in the break are cool but maybe try to put an very long delay on it .. ( dub delay type or ohmboyzz). I would try to make the drums a bit more groovey

anyway keep working hard

Posted by RickyM on Feb-14-2005 23:53:

I like the percs a lot, and especially the kick. Not a huge fan of the original, its kind of boring, but I must say I enjoyed listening to yours, nice and chilled and a bit different.

in my opinion, your rmx can't create the atmosphere as the orgininal can. for me, there is no tension is this edit.

i prefer your rework of watching the waves.

thx anyway
