*listening*
damn individual style, imo!
nice breaks inside...
i like the elements you used...they give a special feeling to this track...also the mellows are simple but effective...
now a nice break comes in...
i guess your lead synth could use some reverb...
nice additional mellow....
wow nice strings at the end of the track...
perhaps you can tune your highs a bit...

overall a really nice production...

Hey guys,

I like the energy in the track. But frankly melodic wise the track is way too repetitive. I thought when the melody was introduced you guys were just building up but then later I figured out that this was already the lead and it just kept going. Quite boring after a few minutes.

Keep working on it!

Cheers!

Sorry posted it at the wrong thread I like your track a lot more than the one I described above. I would use different synths and basses though and focus more on the mastering because it sounds all weak now. But the track itself is quite original!

Cheers!

haha, got me worried there
cause i was actually not sure if the lead was too repetitive
anyways, i've started to really work on the mastering, and a new version's up
thanks for the feedback everyone, keep it coming!

i can't help it, but listneing to this especially the intro with that acid, make me see those pinguins even more in my head that you have in your avatar haha

The break is really cool, with that basspad, nice chord changes.

I would put some filter modulation in the break with that acid, to keep it more allive.

melody is cool.

enjoyble track imo.

As others have said, a nice original style! That lead reminds me a lot of daft punk for some reason. Some serious square wave action if I'm not mistaken!

I think the percussion could do with some more work. The snare sounds kinda compressed or distrorted slightly. Could be the quality of the download though. Also I think a stronger bassline to drive it along could be nice. Also, maybe the melody could do with some more variation after the 3.07 mark. It starts getting there but repeats a little too much.

Overall a nice mellow track with a very original lead. I think you could work on this some more and it could become quite standout.

Posted by mezzir on Feb-05-2005 21:45:

heh...
so for anyone who'd listened to this, even if they said they liked it they probably noticed something was not quite right
i was frustrated with this track yesterday and fooling around with the mixer in fruity loops when i noticed that in the master fx channel not only was there a light compressor which i usually use, but there was also an eq on there
it was like a huge high and low boost
and i enver noticed it
so when i went to tweak all the sounds and whatnot, i would turn up the instruments that were mostly mids but it just didn't sound right
anyways, fixed that and did some tweaking, and updated the original link to something a lot closer to finished
thanks for the feedback, keep it coming!

I always appreciate unique and original work.
Dont know really in which category this tune falls, in aspect of genresomewhere between uplifting trance, tech and happy hardcore heh
But it really doesnt matter, the tune has a great feel to ita nice happy atmosphere.
The sound quality sounds pretty decent to my ears. Some great and crazy leads used there, like in 4:00.. really liked that part.

There are some parts I feel could use some more work tough. Mainly the percussion, dont like the use of the snare that much, try making your percussion more vriable, add some different types of hats some bongos, rims stuff like that.
Your percussion sounds a bit low in volume compared to the rest of the mix.

I can hardly hear any bassline, it seems like the song is build around the main leads. Could have used some more energy I think

But overall a great effort, Well done man!

Posted by d-miurge on Feb-05-2005 23:52:

you should add more percs to give more depth on your track, and rework on the mastering because it sounds weird with my headphones , this work is original and personnal, you'll do superb track with a good technic. Just wait and work !

Cheers, D-Miurge.

thanks for the advice everyone, getting some great feedback here!
taking the advice to beef up the percs, i was just playing around with another line of rimshots/snares and it sounds great, and keeps the energy together a lot better
changed the snare too, like that better as well
right now i'm just workin on 20 dollar headphones so i can't really do much with the bassline, so i'll check that out later tonight at home
and on that note, a few people have mentioned they'd like something more to the bassline, but what do you have in mind?
i'm having the problem where you work on one track too much and its hard to stay objective
thanks!

very original tune here man. i really like that square lead, but it sounds almost kinda filtered, not clean enough. i really hate that crash sample you've used. the percs could stand to be beefed up a little bit. i like those distorted strings you have at 3:30ish.

a lot of cool ideas in here, i think the mix just needs a little cleaning up.

Posted by GLD on Feb-07-2005 10:17:

nice song, a bit too happy for me, i'm more into dark sounds
the mastering could be improved, the track needs more power on the lower frequencies. i think you need to balance out all synths a little better. the melody the comes in after the break is great, but i don't like the acid sounds.

Posted by nectario on Feb-07-2005 21:56:

This track is decent though not your typical Paul Van Dyk or Tiesto track, but hey, it's original though does not sound like trance. I have to admit I've done songs myself that don't sound like trance either.. So I am guilty of that as well...

If I were you I'd do this:

1. Add more compression to some tracks (much more)
2. Add more variety and some surprise elements.
3. EQ a bit
4. Give more energey to the percussion (make the kick more noticeable)

Well that's about it. Keep it up!

Love Poundin' Sensation

Ooo like this lot - uplifting - happy - vibrant - very unique...

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Feb-08-2005 00:49:

I love this bass in the intro.

The filter on the acid makes it seem kind of muffled when it first comes in. It can probably be more pronounced when there's no lead over it.

The pads are really low. Even my stereos can't put them out really well.

I like 5:14. It's a really nice feel. Almost like hard ibiza, if such a thing exists.

That last jungle riff at the very end is awesome.

Posted by DickieThijssen on Feb-09-2005 15:39:

really like the bass, it kinda kicks in with long release after each set of beats, groovy and original... the main melody is too much for me, too much going on, but thats a matter personal taste... overall i like it, wish i made this

mezzir, the crazy guy with the really fuzzy hair...

i thought id give this one a go...and its ok

lead with the portamento on it, very weird...

percs and stuff fine, its that whirrrly lead thing that interested me lol
