iio performing in oakeys e.m.
oh my God this is incredible, excellent idea to have her perform, she was flawless, I wish I could see a video of this scene.
I personally didn't think she was all that good!
Live PA's are generally poor but the crowd made an excellent set of back up vocalists! (me included!)

Great idea to have her perform right before PvD though.
I would have loved to have gone
that's so cool you got to go, how much were tix?
I'm thinking of moving over to London or Birmingham in the next couple years.
er.. the reason she was so flawless during Oakey's EM was coz it wasn't live
Iio came on after Oakey had finished, and before PvD started. And she wasn't flawless, she was late coming in with "..and your love, slowly moved right in....".
But it was still the most amazing atmosphere I've ever experienced. Me, Iio, and 14,999 other people all singing along to the Riva mix of Rapture together
edit: thesuperfunk where were you? Did you meet any of the other TA's??

definitely represent the bud.
re: spad
hey spad, ok, I have the full Paul Oakenfold essential mix, where he plays rapture at 11:03 approx, then the crowd cheers. then around 12:00 the crowd screams as the vocals kick in, that sounds to me like iiao is coming out to perform, if she isn't performing there, in who's set does she perform?
From what I read on the BBC site, she came on at the end of Oakenfold's set, before PvD.

)... the actual live performance was crap.. but we were all hyped from the atmosphere so we didnt care... the crowd screams as the lyrics kick in cuz most ppl only realise then that it was rapture.. not because she was coming out to perform... oakey played the deep dish mix.. then Vaiio performed the riva mix.
alright thanks, I'll have to download pvd's mix too then. if anyone has the mix at a d/d let me know please. i'm glad the one oakey played was the deep dish cause i just ordered that yesterday.
tks guys.
Re: Re: re: spad
The way it worked, Oakey finished, walked off. On came Iio, performed. Off the walked. Loads of fireworks. PvD comes on. Blows roof off. So even if you can get PvD's set Iio might not necessarily be at the beginning of it.
It was wierd, I only realised it was live when she mis-timed singing that first bit. Even though he'd just said "now please welcome on stage.. Iio I still got it into my head that it was PvD on stage and he was just introducing PvD's first record...... fucked? me?

Anyway as Tu already said, Oakey's set is pretty funny. First you hear 30% of the crowd cheer as he drops the tune, then you hear the other 70% cheer as the vocals come in and they realise what they've been listening to

It was the Creamer & K mix.
So many people are confused about which mix is which, Oakie played the Creamer & K mix in the EM, as did Tiesto in his EM. IMHO this is the finest mix of the two, the Deep Dish is a mite too proggy and is best left to the Digweed and Sashas of this world.
