Angry Can people please stop promoting radio shows and live sets here!

There is a forum for that. Lately it seems as though everytime i come check it MD there are several threads promoting a show. Its becoming an annoyance when i'm looking for threads to discuss music and i come across several promotion threads.

I'm not sure if i should post this here. (Irony, I know.) But this is the intended audience(not the feedback foum where admin is the audience).

im sorry.....

tune in now to edm[vision] for oakenfold at the rojan followed by pvd @ nature one

im sorry... thing is, more people visit the md so by promoting a show here, we reach out to more people. not only that, but radio shows still have to do with music. and then while you're listening, you can discuss it, so it kinda fits...

the thing is that until del has made that distinctiv radio(/spam)forum, we are in a sense powerless, but yes, enought of thes fucking spam for these goddamn radioshows, the only show it would be acceptibale is for the essential mix.

maybe my language was a wee bit too strong. i'll leave the moderating to the mods. its just an annoyance. some radio shows and live sets can be topics of discussion but some promotions clearly aren't. they are just spam and there is an amateur dj forum for that. many TA comply and post it there (which is nice), but some don't (which is not).

now, i'll quietly sneak out the back door...

I dont see what the big deal is, promoting a radio show is part of the music discussion, In the sense where people can talk about whats playing on the show and stuff, The reason there are many radio shows being mentioned here is cause people, like myself, Love hearing the music.

my thoughts exactly. plus our station just opened up a few days ago so we're still at a very small listener level and we need more exposure, so we're tying to let people know, hey, tune in, we're quality. and idont think it qualifies as spam unless we're trying to get money out of you

my 2 cents

some are and some aren't. for instance the following is not:

Hi I'm Joe Schmo and i'm playing tonight at [insert time].

You cannot dictate what a person should and should not do, If a radio show is involve, It involves music, Therefore, It belongs here.

its about getting your style and music out. If you dont like it, dont tune in.
