The 10 Greatest Star Trek Characters Of All-Time
The 10 Greatest Star Trek Characters Of All-Time
1) James T. Kirk (Star Trek): If America had a national "fictional character," it would be James Tiberius Kirk. An adventurous captain who was ready to fight at the drop of a hat if he had too and spent his nights "teaching alien women how to love" as Frye from Futurama would say!
2) Spock (Star Trek): Brilliant, tough, and always logical, Spock was the perfect #2 for Kirk and such a great character that he'd have been captain on any other series.
3) Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek: New Generation): Picard is no Kirk, but who is? It's like comparing an American President to George Washington, it's not really fair. Picard is a great captain, but he's just a little too old to be "whooping people" in hand to hand combat.
4) Data (Star Trek: New Generation): If any captain had ever had Spock & his mechanical doppleganger Data both on your crew, hr could feel going into the holodeck even if a rogue Klingon war cruiser was approaching at Warp 5.
5) Johnathan Archer (Star Trek: Enterprise): STE never really hit its stride and since it has been canceled now, it never will. But Archer was still a great character, it's just too bad the writers couldn't do more with him.
6) Worf (Star Trek: New Generation): Who can dislike a character who tosses off quotes like "Today is a good day to die" & "humans damage so easily"? If they could distill a marine down into a Star Trek character, it would be Warf...
7) 7 of 9 (Star Trek: Voyager): It's as if a character right of Ayn Rand's novels were reborn in the Star Trek world. Love her!
8) T'Pol (Star Trek: Enterprise): Soo hot, so Vulcan...she's totally irresistible even though she's the grouchiest Vulcan character ever on the show.
9) Odo (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine): A great character wasted on a weak show. Odo would have been a real asset as a crusty head of security a better Trek show.
10) Deanna Troi (Star Trek: New Generation): A bit too touchy feely (and coming from a psychology major, that's saying something), but still a compelling character who could read your mind well enough to tell if she's making you happy or unhappy, but not well enough to know if you're actually thinking about 7 of 9 while Troi is giving you her special "Betazoid backrub".
Bonus: The Three Best Star Trek Enemies!
1) The Borg (Star Trek: New Generation): Relentless, merciless, nearly unstoppable foes...who somehow seemed to always get stopped!
2) Kahn (Star Trek): The genetically engineered, 20th century superman was Kirk's legendary nemesis.
3) Q (Various): The Norse God Loki + Leprechaun 4: In Space w/ much better writers = Q
Bonus: The Three Most Annoying Star Trek Characters!
1) Wesley Crusher (Star Trek: New Generation): Only Jar-Jar blinks tops him on the Sci-Fi "Most Annoying List".
2) Janeway (Star Trek: New Generation): Worst. Captain. Ever. EVER!
3) Guinan (Star Trek: New Generation): Oh look, it's Whoopi Goldberg -- the "wise" bartender who always has to get her folksy two cents in on every subject.

nerdlet.

Khan was fantastic...... best Pakistani ever!!!
You bastard! how could you forget Dax? Kirk doesn't deserve to be up there... switch him up with Janeway. She doesn't have the cheesy melodrama with her. Sisko is the pwn too. Most annoying.. hm.. Bashir or Gul Dukat... both were highly entertaining tho.. Garek was a great character
edit: most annoying! Rom!!! Quark's brother!
I thought DS9 was the best Star Trek series. That was a long time ago though...

Rob, I agree with all of that
DS9 ended up being the best overall...Quark was probably the best character ever, lol. (maybe next to Q). I liked Next Gen a lot thought too...ihadahugethingforwesleycrusher
lol
Enterprise sucked ass...that characters were SO boring, I just couldn't watch it.
nerdy star trek argument:
Picard > Kirk
1. Picard could kick Kirk's ass
2. Picard was a charmer, kirk was just a ho
3. Vash was hotter than any alien thing kirk would hook up with, LOL

by far the nerdiest thing I've ever read. And I used to write an engineering newspaper!
the number 1 for me would be worf
his quotes are just amazing
then it would prob be Q. he was just amazing. to make it in 3 star trek series...what a character.
the best captain would be sisko. he could kick anyones ass. worst is janeway....a woman captain...plz
best series was DS9. so many good episodes, and then the war to finish it off was execellent. worst is that new one, enterprise...soooo cheeesy.
lol Vash WAS hotness.
As for which Captain is greater, Picard > Sisko > Kirk
imo. Data kicked so much ass as well. DS9 was very cool too with Worf in the Jem Hadar Detention centre kicking serious ass. Best villain was the Borg (obviously), Q was entertaining as hell. Quark was always great, esp w the rules of Acquisition.
i feel ashamed that i know most of these characters.
when i had no cable i got hooked on TNG. pretty crazy.

| Originally posted by smuncky wasnt she also in DS9 as well at TNG??? i think in DS9 was when she came on board and her and quark sold off her artifacts, and Q was in that episode also. i could go into more detail about that episode but meh, im not that nerdish |

| Originally posted by MarkT I think her first appearance was in the very first episode of Next Gen with Q, no? When Q put everyone into that weird Robin Hood scenario? |

Screw Star Trek and long live the mythical characters and gang from the original Star Wars trilogy!!!

And as far as COOL BAD guys go, or just races in general on Star Trek, here's my list
1) THE BORG... nothing/nobuddy is better/cooler than the Borg... I just love the concept of them... man, at the end seasons of Voyager, FUCK! The levels they took the Borg plots too.. AMAZING! I was dying watching them! Who here saw the OMEGA PARTICLE episode... and whut it represents to the Borg! WOW! Just loved EVERYTHING the Borg
2) THE Q... oMG... again, John De Lance is AWESOME as Q... but just the idea of them and the shit they (or one Q in particular) would cause... LOVED IT... tho I mu5t say, i think Voyager kinda wrecked alot of the coolness about the Q in some of their plots
3) SPECIES 8472...
COOLEST BAD GUYS EVER... OMG! I race so powerful and advances biologically that even the Borg were helpless against them!
Species 8472 was the blood shit! I LOVE THEM! That is unless VOYAGER completely WRECKED them and made them out to be pussies and had them fearing a Federation invasion? WTF!
Way to go voyager, you destroyed one of the best races ST ever created!
4) THE JEM'HADAR... everything about them was cool... their purpose, how they NEVER sleep, never eat, UNCONDITIONAL obedience to the Founders, they are so utilitarian and really exist for no purpose other than to protect the founders and fight their wars... they have NO LUXERIES at all... i dont think they even can ever sit down... need i saw more ? Oh! and they were blue! LOVE THE BLUE! (were the Alpha's blue, or more greenish ?)
