A State of Trance - in Los Angeles??

Hey guys,

I got the weekly newsletter from Element Radio (103.1FM) in Los Angeles, and the subject line was mighty interesting...

Note this newsletter is sent by Godskitchen...

From: Element Radio [mailto:[email protected]]
Sent: Thursday, February 03, 2005 9:15 AM
To: David Toole
Subject: 103.1 FM | Armins State of Trance Coming Soon Exclusively on Element

Note the subject: Armin's A State of Trance Coming Soon Exclusively on Element Radio

Could this be where ASOT is headed? Someone find out for sure.

I should point out there was no other info in the actual newsletter.

Dave

syndicate it

Whoa....so basically, it's gonna be broadcasted on an American radio station. That'll mean that the show will be in English, right?! *drools with anticipation*

I think it is being syndicated, and Element Radio is one of a few stations that will carry the show.

this really is super news..i cant wait for ASOT to get back ...also wonder what changes are gonna take place just cant wait

This simply means that this station has joined in the syndication, not that that's where Armin will do the show.

Of course.

But changes will have to be made, simply because a whole bunch of American FM listeners don't wanna tune into a show with a guy not speaking English.

And I think that's one of the things that we're excited about. Or am I crazy?

They already have with the episodes that were aired last year since ASOT was also in US

I've listened to about three episodes and have always heard Armin speaking in a different language. Have I just listened to the wrong episodes?

armin can talk dutch & english in to 2 mics at the same time ?

Posted by Fresh Prince on Feb-03-2005 20:25:

No of course not, heh
But the show was aired on station in Connecticut for one, forgot it's name.

Posted by swisstoni_uk on Feb-03-2005 20:27:

lol being Dutch, he does to tend to speak a little Dutch, just every now and then though . More than likely it will be syndicated as mentioned, i can hardly see Armin moving his show to the US, airplay in the US evening would mean silly times in Europe, and i dont think he wants to alienate his largest support base

yea i know it was, im from the area, but i think it was in dutch, not english...hence americans "dont" want to listen to dutch...

personally i like hearing the german/dutch on the radio, americans are full of crap anyway

2 repeat what evey one else is saying, it's not like armin is spinning asot in la, its just gonna be carried by the station...

Posted by Fresh Prince on Feb-03-2005 20:29:

All ASOT eps. ever were in dutch, he would only occasionaly greet the worldwide listeners in english.

Fuck yes. Markus Schulz sounds like a fucking moron with that accent. I'd rather listen to any other language, or Pete Tong's British English.

Its going to be syndication for sure. No way Armin is coming to United States to do his radio show. When 1/2 of population here doesn't know who is Armin van Buuren.

well if 1/2 did that would be close to 175 million people...

its more like 1/50-100
