Yarune - Fanaticism

Hi all.

Here is my newest track which is about finished. I'd be very pleased with some responses so I can do some final work and then maybe some sending out.

I've put some hours in this, maybe too much, but I think it's another step closer..

Oh, and below the midi file is also available, for the interested souls. Any remixing effort is appreciated.

Download: Yarune - Fanaticism (Full) **
Midi: Yarune - Fanaticism (Midi File)
Info: 8:17 | 140 bpm | 256 kbps | 15 mb

As said and as always, comments are appreciated!

* EDIT:

structure change (1 climax)
lead synth changed

** EDIT:
full: mix cleaned up, brighter as well

hey mate,

the buildup is really energetic and i really like it, synths are really powerful in this one, i really like the main melody too, but i miss some pads in there, for some reason...

otherwise, i like the way you made the breakdown,

anyways, this could be mint, just some eqing issues, i would change the bassline for some a&b like driving ones, but that just personal preference,

keep 'em coming,

cheers,

Peter

Sounds good! The breakbeat is cool, but I'm not a fan of it anymore, it's used so much, in almost every trance-track.

At 1:30 it sound very chill. Relaxing and nice tune. Get's a little boring at the end, but then there's a breakbeat again. Oh, break.

The lead is nice, everything sounds pretty ok. But I don't like the sound of the synth there. Sounds erm, bit like iron. :P

Comments taken in consideration

Very mucho gracias, amigos!

comments as I listen....

Nice kick.. really clean production so far

the breaks in teh beginning are cool.. the transfer from goign to breaks to the "four on the floor" kick was somewhat rough..

at 1:33.. the production is somewhat empty.. needs more layers.. a nice pad or atmosphere would do the job

at the breaks again at 2:30.. i think you used them too often.. a breakbeat loop/sample would of sounded better than just a change up on the same kick..

nice lead at 3:00

nice build up to the melody at 3:35.. the shaker on the 2/4 beat is a unique touch..

soudns really empty when the kick comes in at 4:00.. and again after you release it at 4:15.. somewhat disapointing even..

melody is ok.. nothing that would stand out, though..

at 5:00.. i don't really feel like listening to much more of this so i'm going to skim through the rest of the track..

ok.. melody is repeated again.. again.. very empty..

the synth on the melody is somewhat software-ish..

all in all.. production is decent.. the highs are nice and crisp.. kick is good.. but the track lacks originality, complexity, power, and texture (layers).

I'm not goign to add this to my playlist for the above reasons.

really like the lead and melody in this one sounds really powerful, good job on that. Like others have mentioned needs a couple of atmospheric pads and things in the background to beef it all up at times and maybe a little more percussion or atleast make whats there more prominant to give it a bit more of a drive when it kicks off.

all in all some good work jay, wouldnt mind a full of this to play out if possible

Nice sounds, quite original everything.

Bass isn't deep enough for me.

I do like the synths and small things that is running through the track.

that breakbeat isn't really needed IMO, makes things longer only.

Hmm, those saw stabs get in a bit to sudden, use some filter maybe

Melody is oke, but something for a commercial tune IMO but catchy.

Ya perc needs to be a bit stronger.

Thats all

Oh yea, no 2 climaxes

hi jay m.

listening now. ok for a start i dont think the melody is particularly catchy. i love the synths thou. its a little empty in places as others mentioned. when it kicks back in i cant really feel any power off it. its missing pads desperately and a deeeper bass imo.

if i were you i would keep the synths you have in this one but just make a completely different arrangement and melody think those synths would suite somrthing a bit darker, and please more bass its hiding somewhere in the back.

not your best work but good all the same

Ok thanks for the replies guys.

Did some changes along the way. Thanks for the comments again cause the synth actually WAS ugly, and now it's.. at least less ugly

In stead of 2 mainparts, there's 1 now.

Percs have more clarity now and the pads are noticable now.

Hit me again!

Cool panning on the percs.

Nice breaks.

Nice energy with the gated bassline.

I like the lead better when it's still in an envelope, but eh, that's not really what the track calls for.

Aye, thanks for listening!

Posted by tonkproject on Feb-08-2005 19:14:

yep...quite a good tune..loved the all song but my sugestion try to make the main synt much more fat or combine'it with a fat one..

Posted by GLD on Feb-08-2005 19:40:

dont like the breaks in there, make a trance track OR a breaks track imo. sound needs a rework imo, comes a little powerless, and i can hardly hear the bassline! maybe the problem is that you used stereo spread on way too much, sound is too widespread, like the synth playing fat after the break! work on your sound dude!

Posted by Icone on Feb-09-2005 00:30:

This sounds really cool to me Jay, very nice work so far. Love the softer drive, synths and global feel of the track.

Percussion might be a bit on the weak side, but I like how it fits to the mood. Not too sure about the breakbeat part though, dunno if it's really needed in this one...

Carry on

// Wim

i think as others said, make bass less unison, reverb , stereo on it

make it more in instead of out
as well as the synth, take off some unison from there, or stereo or whatever u got on it

the trance synth coming in is massive, love it
always powerful from u :-)
still needs a little clearing up, but great melody when it all hits in, sounds very asian style, i love asian trance

great site by the way

[+]intro, drum programming, main lead melody synth, smoothness, overall production

[-] gets a bit too repetitive, takes too long for anything to happen, energy is low, no euphoric melody....

Good track overall, nothing special, but no random n00b sounds, full version would be nice.

Hey Jay nice job on this track, I dont really want to critiscize on percussion and such because to me thats all a matter of taste and I respect what you have done.

I love the melody and how it flows..cool fx going, although the main melody does get a bit repetitive towards the end it still isnt tooo bad.

It's got a really chill ambient flow to it that would play nice on a hot summer nite with the top down cruising on the freeway going just above 110mph

Nice job

Allrighty guys, a lot of thanks for the reviews. Appreciated.

And thanks to Greenwave for playing this one out on ETN.fm.

Full will soon be available.

Posted by Klangzentrum on Feb-09-2005 18:02:

this is already really nicely done, jay!
you always have some quality tracks going on!
im excited about the full track!

Posted by tylerc on Feb-10-2005 07:25:

i really like the percussion in the beginning. the bassline isn't bassy enough for me. i think you maybe went a lil too far with your panning on the percs, but it may just be because i'm listening on headphones.

nice work.

Posted by alexpea on Feb-10-2005 13:23:

The whole tune is boring, imo. And I recon a crappy sounding shake-sound in my left ear every time there's supposed to be a clap.

Posted by pho mo on Feb-10-2005 13:34:

Beautiful stuff!! Way too much stereo, but the main melody is unbelievably good. This would make a great driving uplifting tune, but I like the more chilled vibe in this one. Really nice use of fx too, lots of nice little touches that make all the difference.

Add more to the buildup.
Nice saws at the buildown.
Good lead.
I think you could use more fxes and precs.

4/5 for now
