U2 vs. Oasis

who are better? both amazing imo, and i honestly cant choose.

but i htink u2 since i have to adhere to the options

i tipped the scale towards oasis, meaning i made a diffrence, meaning i rock

both used to be good
but i grew up as an oasisite and thus theyre miles better in my world

I say Oasis. Plus U2 seem to be pretty pretenious and full of shit about how much they do (maybe it's just Bono actually) for charitys. Then they sell out to Apple for the special iPod.

Just seem a bit false and their tunes are a bit samey IMHO.

Oasis and U2 have both made some great tunes, not that I listen to any of them. I have always been vexed by Liam Gallagher's various grades of nasal whine, and their performance at last year's Glastonbury festival highlighted their 'we can't be arsed' attitude which is never attractive in a band.

Meanwhile, U2 have a bit of a smug 'we're better than you' streak which puts me off. Plus, if you've seen Bill Bailey: Part Troll you'll know what The Edge's guitar playing would sound like without all the pretty effects. Oop, there goes my skirt!

Oasis all the way to be fair, Gallagher's lyrics are far superior to any Bono shite, lets compare their uber happy songs, U2 - Beautiful Day and Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger

So yeah you can see there, the U2 lyrics are a bit pap tbh! Oasis ones are quality tho . And with Beautiful Day you knowwww...they gave Virgin Radio a copy and they played it a few times but people didn't like it, so they made it a bit more 'rocky'... talk about sell-out! And U2 are trying to get back a more rawk image by being really rock'n'roll by doing a 'guerilla' gig in NYC to about 20k people or somethin, although strangely there was a massive stage there already and MTV were there ready to film it! unlucky them eh! And theres the U2 ipod...oh dear me! unlucky them eh.

Anyway I cant be arsed write a big essay because I don't have time, but Oasis > U2. The only good thing about U2 is that they've been around forever, thats about all the good things there is to them. And I agree with MaRt that The Edge isn't really very good on guitar.

U2 = Hype machine. U2 are to rock what tiesto is to trance

IMO oasis only made one good album, before they turned out to be cock suckers

U2 has longevity (not that makes a flying fucking difference) but it's the only reason that would sway my results for U2...

they've just been around longer

I find most of U2's songs boring, so I will go with Oasis, and because they�re a Madchester band

Oasis made possibly the biggest two albums of our Generation in Definately Maybe and Whats the Story (Morning Glory)
they then went shit. very shit. got a lot better with the masterplan. then went shit again. destined to be shit forever.
U2 however, have been consistently average to good for over 25 years
with the odd bit of musical greatness thrown in
