Hi all, I'm experiencing crackling and stuttering during playback despite the CPU meter reading close to 0. The buffer is set to the maximum. I'm running a 3.2Ghz pentium4 with the audiphile 2496 which is supposedly a good card.

My track has about thirty channels ten or fifteen of which are samples and the others are synths. The stuttering occurrs even when only a couple of these channels are playing, is this usual?

The IRQ number of the card is 22 so this could possibly have something to do with my problems but I doubt it as my computer is new and is running very few programs.

Try another version of the drivers. It should work.

Switch your soundcard to another PCI Slot.

IRQ 22 means it's sharing its resources with other stuff on the PCI-Bus.

The Audiophile card needs a unique and lower IRQ. Have a (extended) read at http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do...104295aec1f755b

I had the same problem and switching the card to another slot solved the problem...
