noel sanger is turning commercial....u can just hear it in his sounds, kinda sad. Designs is a classic though. Hope he doesnt turn into one of Markus' army of crappy vocal douchebags

Is that clearly more 'commercial'?

Considering the time periods to compare, he does play some reasonably popular tunes, but he has also always played vocal stuff, and yet not been obnoxiously commercial.

Then again, every music post Ive seen you make is calling someone commercial...

As for Close Enough...prolly not the greatest track ever, but it is catchy and well made without being offensively vocally

And that means its a pretty good tune considering a lot of others out there|

By no means is Noel commercial.

He has become more mainstream with alot of Markus a-like sets and productions.

Compare a set of this year with older sets from 2003, he was playing way more deeper then

Noel is the man, he is one of the best producers in the USA. Keo is pure tunage

loving this track at the moment! it's so catchy,,, groovy!

Noel Sanger was my friends music teacher in Florida...he definitely has talent if he can teach at the best sound production/engingeering school, but all im saying is starting to produce typical GDJB tunes which there are dime a dozen on that show.....and then come the obvious probspot mixes and so on......the usual GBDJB formula, im sure we're all used to this by now, i dont have to lecture. He's basically going out of his way to produce a Markus Schulz style of "trance" ...so it fits the show.

Noel Sanger - My Prayer (PRobspot remix) <--- laff

Keo - Close Enough (Sanger Remix) <--- ewww

hahahahahahaa

awesome, i must be getting successful, TA's are starting to turn against me.

honestly i appreciate the comments on both sides. and thanks to sami H for the kind words and starting this thread. but listen up kids, dad's gonna teach u all a thing or 2.

i make dance music. music for dancing. dancy music people can dance to. repetitive beatsd that sometimes have spacey sounds and vocals on top. that's it. call it commercial, call it deep, its always been the same for me. since i started in 1990. i play the tunes that are moving me at that moment, and they obviously influence my production. i was asked by a good friend, (keo's coproducer, ellis miah, with whom i used to write "gay" vocal house in the early 1990's) to remix "close enough" as a favor to get some attention from european DJ's as keo has a couple major label deals waiting to happen, and ellis is building keo's story. i did a remix that i felt fit the song. that's all. i hadnt been on GDJB in about 18 months at that time, and hadnt listened to it ever, except on the radio when i am in miami. ilove markus and value his opinion, but i didnt make this tune "for him"- i just made a remix that FIT THE SONG as i have been doing this a long time and have that ability i hope, to think along musical lines when i remix.

since then the attention has been great on this tune, armada has signed it, and yes, i have gone down this road production-wise a few times deliberately since then. but lets make NO mistakes here, the sound you guys are slagging is the same one I was championing back in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 (jr high school anyone?), longside deeper house sounds, tasty balaeric grooves and progressive breaks. same as today. the sound is just melodic prog and i love it. i am glad it's back. and yes i have ALWAYS played vox, i love them, it's just that now, i have permission from the progmafia again!!!!

edit: remiks, thx for yr kind words about designs- but the dirty mix was done literally back to back with the keo tune. within 2 weeks of each other.

so, to sum up, i thank each of you for yr thoughts, pro or con, it's all down to yr taste as it is to mine. i appreciate you guys listenng closely enough to know you don't like it. but if you hear what i do now, or at any other time in the last 15 years as "commercial" then that's cool by me, maybe i'll make some loot after all this time. but just know this: it is and has always been about me making the tunes i want to make, whatever they sound like. and whatever names anyone wants to label them with with. as long as people dance.

i make dance music. music for dancing. the end.

peace and love

noel sanger

but really people...what are you talking about?

Posted by noelsanger on Feb-09-2005 08:52:

and one more thing

my response here isnt out of a need to defend myself, or something, like i said, i actually appreciate the fact that people are listening enough to know they don't dig something... but there's just so much wrongheadedness on here sometimes that i felt it necessary to put it all out there, as i see it.

and back to the tunes i go...

noel

it's sad how that's practically the truth

Great post Noel...thanks for setting some of the TAs straight. Its funny how sometimes people think that when an artist like you or Markus starts to get more global recognition that somehow you have gone "commerical" or started to produce "cheesy" tracks. I've been fans of both of you guys since 99 and I have to say that even though your sounds have changed slightly, you have pretty much stayed true to your style and I think its just that everyone else has finally come around and realized what great music it is.

Posted by biznology on Feb-09-2005 19:35:

lol maybe TAs just talk shit to pull the producers out of *lurk*...

hehe|
