Stanton Trackmaster II
I bought Stanton Trackmaster II "Roger Sanchez Edition" anyone have these the output on them is pretty good. Has anyone else heard or used these needles before?
i never used the Roger Sanchez versions before, but i've used the regular trackmasters 2sk's. I thought the sound quality was ok, but not great. To me they sounded very simular to my stanton 520sks. The tracking was not the best, but not horrid for back cueing. For the money i would stay away from Trackmasters, and i would personally suggest either Shure Whitelabels, or if you really need high output the Ortofon Electros are good too.
my friend bought them after warning him and now he hates them so much cuz they always skip and they sound bad.
howw do you know if you need new needles

Damn, Well I spent about $180.000 (Should I take them back? Which ones should I?
yea take them back. You can get 2 whitelables for close to that price.
I've got my pair of whitelables for less than what you paid for your trackmasters. And IMO, they beat the living shit out of every stanton cart i've owned/used. check them out at www.agiprodj.com a good place w/ great prices and customer support.
The only bad thing you'll have to deal with: many places won't take back opened cartridges, so you may be stuck with them.
i had them but now im upgrading to the Ortofons! The Trackmaster II's never gave me any problem!

| The finishing touch to the set up is the near mythical Koetsu record player cartridges, so delicate and precise you can't back cue with them. 'They're made by a painter and audio enthusiast in Japan and when I did a tour in Japan, I met him, he was ninety eight years old. He's a legend. He also makes Samurai swords and Koetsu was the name of his teacher. He went from the sword to the stylus!' chuckles David. David also uses metal weights on top of his records when they're playing to minimise vibrations which could, otherwise, be fed back into the stylus. Such is their effectiveness that you could, theoretically, put the record player, whilst in use, into the horns of the speakers and it wouldn't feed back. If all this sounds extreme, everyone who's attended the parties always remember the quality of the sound. One such Lofty, as regulars became known, is DJ and producer Franois Kevorkian: |
