So I stumbled accross this...

Why people don't listen to Trance anymore.

Here is why, step by step:

* Trance is elusively the easiest to make. So everyone is making it.
* You have people who make EuroCheese but call it Trance. They give bad names to Trance when they are not Trance.
* EuroCheese is bubblegum so they enter music charts very easily. They become annoying because they aren't good music and they get too much airplayed.
* People who weren't into Trance in the first place grew angry as they get annoyed by EuroCheese. They do not and cannot distinguish between Cheese and Trance. So they swear to hate Trance due to their confusion.
* Trance requires people to take time and let go to build the "trancy" feeling. Nowadays, who has time anymore? Trance and Eurocheese tend to sound alike in the intros. People who do not know Trance never get to learn to distinguish between the two. They never learn how to properly listen to Trance. As EuroCheese occupies the chart, these people grew even more angry at Trance.
* If Trance is dead, the ones to blame are Eurocheese supportors and those who never take time to have time to distinguish between real Trance and EuroCheese.

what is the point of posting this? Post it on a prog/techno forum or go post this stuff on trance.nu, please. These threads only lead to one thing. what are you getting out of this? what do you mean to leet? its the fact that this thread comes up 5 times daily, and always turns into another md flame war. keep the shit out homie

You're the one being negative. You're starting a war. I think the guy pointed out some right reasons. Why not post it? What the fuck will we talk about if we don't discuss similar things? We're no magicians we never form anything new on this forum anyways. We always dwell on same old bullshit we just disguise it in a different outfit.

Yet what we hear on the radio and in the charts nowadays is Eric Prydz - Call On Me and Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme, not Lasgo. Strange..

first of all you did was post some stupid webpage(probably yours) with an opinion. if people were looking for opinions on why trance is dead they would go on google and search for it.

second of all the reason that there is nothing ever good in md, is becase people have learned to go post in their own/dj booth/"other" forums where shit like this is not flooded 24/7.

I thought Danny Tenaglia and house was teh pwnage there. At least that's all I ever hear about..

Posted by mto on Feb-09-2005 00:01:

Also why use google when you can talk on a forum designed for trance?

Radio/charts here are nothing but overplayed dance anthems that were released in Europe months ahead. Sure there is good music here when you go to premier clubs, but other than that... nothing man. Techno is getting bigger, I can tell you that though.

europeans accept what's good on it's merits, it doesn't matter if the music is by someone from a different country. Americans seem hung up on seeing 'local' dj's more, eg miami/nyc ones when they're not always as good as the intl talent

Very true. Good point. I guess if you go to D.C. area you have Deep Dish and that housey vibe. Detroit still has its techno, but its very very tiny. New York is just a mix of so many things, and i really don't want to talk abou it. Crobar and Space in Miami are good venues with good talent, but the sound that has become its signature.. is slowly starting to annoy as we all know.

You're missing screws in that big head of yours. If you really have nothing nice to say to me or to contribute to this discussion, please fuck off. It took me two pages to even get any creative and relevant input due to the fact that I had to battle you for no reason at all. After all, you are no moderator nor are you some big man on this forum, therefore quit judging me and what I wanna post about.

I guess that's what I get when I argue with someone called "sandstorm." Jesus Chris did I go below my level.
