Confused Spray on tans

has anyone ever tried this stuff? Does it work? I need a base tan for florida and im not a fan of tanning beds.. I burn like a zig zag.
Then again I dont wanna try the spray on crap and look like a carrot.
oh what to do!

Instead of tanning beds, try the mystic tan, which is basically the same, but it mists on. Its more healthy for your skin as well.

I think im going to try that this summer since Ive never ever tanned well from the natural sun, and the tan in a bottle stuff always makes me look a wierd orange shade.

expensive??

^^^ No no no NO NO, to all of you!

Spray-on tans and "mystic" tans DO work, and they don't turn you orange anymore like they used to, but THE TAN YOU GET DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY PROTECTION WHATSOEVER FROM THE SUN!!!

A good base tan from a tanning bed will enable you to stay out in the sun for 2x or sometimes 4x as long as you normally would. Bronzers/spray-ons/mists do absolutely nothing, and you're actually more likely to get burned because you won't realize that you're burning, because the way those products interact with the chemicals in your skin can "hide" it.

If it's just for appearance purposes then go for the mist, 100%, but NOT if you're doing it to lie out in the sun. Don't get skin cancer, people!

well even if he gets a mist tan, he can put on a mild sunblock to go and lie in the sun

ya im the same way and then it goes away and its barely a colour....and then i go places and stand next to ppl who tan easily or who are very tanned and i look like casper so not fair!!! Hence why ill usually opt for a somewhat orange shade rather than pasty white!

I wish I could tan. No matter what, I burn. 30+spf and I still burn.

What the fuck.

I used to burn to.....until I started tanning in tanning beds before the summer....you build yourself a base tan, then it helps to minimize burning when in the sun.

Nothing like laying in a warm tanning bed on a crappy day to put you in a better mood

Posted by drgoodvibe on Feb-09-2005 03:01:

I always took being able to tan really easily for granted.

Mist tan is a good idea, just wear some sunblock when you go out to the real sun. The American Medical Association said that it's something like 10X more harmful to go to a tanning bed instead of sitting out in the sun.

I just love having a dark skin pigment (or whatever that's called), and the tan I got last summer in Europe still hasn't left me 100% ... WHOOO-HOOO!

OMG so true! it's just so relaxing...
I usually go in the Stand up booths but if i'm feeling crappy a warm tanning bed puts me in a much better mood!

I knew from a friend's experience, yes. Don't anyone think that a fake tan will let you stay out in the sun longer.

what is this misting you speak of?

do you buy it or do you have to go get it done somewhere?

Be Cool!

Im one of those ppl who never used to be able to tan and burn REALLY REALLY well

Its scary i suppose when you think about it, but im no longer "afraid" of getting sunburned... unless im severly burnt (as in 2nd degree in alot of cases) im simply not bothered by sunburns very much anymore...

ive gotten used to them to the point the pain isnt a deterent... its prolly the 2 times i had 2nd degree sunburns all up and down entire body... (can u believe i did it back to back sumemrs LOL)

yea, like so if im burnt anywhere on my face, back or shoulders or arms, it doesnt bother me anymore... tho getting burnt say on the backs of my legs, my calfs, is still very painful

but yea, and after i get a couple solid burns, if i can keep my skin moisturized (and not peel), i keep the tan and then im home free for the rest of the summer generally...

i love the beater tan I often have! +1 to beater tans and how sexxy they are

Here get this... I have no idea how to fucking explain this... if i wear anything ABOVE SPF 15 I burn quickly... if I wear anything BELOW... i turn a nice dark brown shade... no matter what it is... SPF 5, Tanning Butter, Baby Oil, etc.

FUCKING WEIRD

Pul-eeze! Listen to this Diginut! Mystic tans, spray on tans, rub on cream tanners, they are ALL only for appearance.

The whole purpose of a base tan is to build resistance so your skin doesn't burn so quickly. You need to go to a tanning bed to do this. Sorry, but its true. Its not anymore damaging to your skin as spending a week in the sun will be anyway.

Go tanning, then rock it down south Toronto style.

Peace.
