Awesome thread!

I've been thinking of getting a CDJ-800. I wonder if I should just wait for the 200.

I hope you know, 200 can't scratch. It only has the studder mode

800 has scratch

If you don't scratch much & just mix mostly EDM...it should be perfect though

I think I may have scratched once in early 2003.

The truth of it is that, I'd been playing cd's so little that I sold my dual player. I think the 200 would be perfect for that random cd I might play. The 800 or 1000 would probably be overkill for my needs.

Is that DJM-1000 just about the sweetest thing you've ever seen? That EFX-1000 is amazing as well.

Pardon my stupidity but, what does the VSW-1 do?

Posted by A83 on Feb-12-2005 03:46:

DJM 1000 is a BEAST...it's huge!!

efx 1000 I'll probably get in the summer looks so sweet & sounds sweet

Video switcher for the dvj-x1's

It's basically an outboard crossfader with only cut options I think...no fading slowly

Posted by Psiweaver on Feb-12-2005 04:04:

I can't wait for the efx1000 think i'll be picking that up this summer too

I'm digging the EFX-500R. An effects unit is my next real purchase, so I'm kind-of keeping an eye on these things...

Posted by A83 on Feb-12-2005 05:06:

the R is just new color I think nothing new except the type R with NOS and Chrome Spinners

Posted by sym on Feb-12-2005 05:48:

Do you think we will see a price drop in the 1000s with the launch of the 200? I know that the 200 can't scratch, but you have to think a few people would go for the 200 over the 1000 because it has the same pitch accuracy.

Yeah I know, but it looks sick! If I'm gonna buy an EFX-500, I'd get that one for sure.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Feb-12-2005 06:11:

Yep, i'd probly go with the last one to save cash..looks pretty decent to me

Yeah but the 500 (normal) would match your 800s

Yeah, but I'm seriously digging the red. It'd be unique...

Posted by jupiterone on Feb-12-2005 14:17:

jesus...almost 3000$ for that mixer. id rather pay the extra thousand and get a V6.

Posted by dj chex on Feb-12-2005 15:41:

I would rather save the $900 and buy a xone 92 instead. I can get lots of vinyl for $900.

As for the Efx-500, i love the color, if it drops in price i might just get one.

Exactly or the 92. Id ratehr get the 1000 by adding the extra bucks instead of that red 500,its just a bit to pricey.

Posted by A83 on Feb-12-2005 16:43:

No price drops after everything is released

The 1000 is a CLUB mixer. It's really not meant for home djs. The thing is HUGE. And I'm guessing pioneer has stepped it up a few more notches and made this the best mixer coming out on the market for clubs

NAMM

Posted by jupiterone on Feb-12-2005 16:53:

taht thing is f***ing massive. either way people will buy it even for home dj's.

Posted by A83 on Feb-12-2005 18:04:

Yeah, my guess...it'll better than the xone92

Also, if you notice. It doesn't look like it has effects

Posted by Allied Nations on Feb-12-2005 21:44:

look on the left.

Behold, my arse.

Wow! the 1000, its gynormous. I think i will settle with the Xone 92 though. I like the 2 mids. But i am really loving the EFX 1000. Think i might add it to a list.

Posted by A83 on Feb-13-2005 00:08:

According to the manual, this unit is 19" wide, 14" tall, 7" deep. Weighs in at over 26lbs.

Posted by beats and beeps on Feb-13-2005 00:48:

I would get a 464 instead and save alot of cash.

The xone 464 is very similar.

Posted by displaced on Feb-13-2005 01:50:

errr... i dunno about you guys but cdj 200 looks awfully like cdj 100 with mp3 support...

maybe that will drop prices on cdj 100s?
