i liked your otra noche, so ill have a listen to this one aswell...

soundquality is really good...
in the break you could perhaps add a deep-pad, imo...i like it low!
nice plucked sound...works fine with the bell-sound!
the break keeps tension...always a +
still waiting for the main part...nice!
now the track is on full power...i think the bassline could be more present...theres somehow a lack of energy, you wanted to achieve by this massive break...
perhaps it was intention to keep it chilled...i dont know...just a suggestion...

very nice production...i like it a lot!

very nice sound quality, synths are lush and the pads are nice too percs sound nice and driving too.

melodically speaking, the main lead has this "synaesthesia" feeling that i already didnt like in synaesthesia that high bleep melody is very cute tho

good job, i'd like to hear the full

*listening*

would like some lower pad in the break
otherwise it sounds really nice

i think the track could need some more energy when it's all on...

other then that it sounds nice

The melody sounds like an ALT+F4 rip off at the start! Very lack luster - the sound is very girly! You need to beef this track up! Sound quality is very good though but just not my thing!

Posted by Luke Terry on Feb-12-2005 13:14:

this is very nice, production is very clean.

the alt+f4 style synth could do with a bit more reverb/delay, it sounds very dry in the mix

sounds a bit simple when it kicks in, need to do some work on the kick/bass/percs but with a bit of work it will be very signable

just be careful who you target as the melody is very happy

It is a girly cheese track... It's one of those tracks that I didn't really care for but I showed clips here and there to friends and they were nagging me to finish it, but it turned out pretty cool IMO.

The synth was supposed to be derivative of Alt+F4 because I was trying to learn how they did they had the saw sounds stacked up and chords and junk, but hey if it works well in the mix, I'll leave it.

Thanks

I tried adding reverb and delay previously to the synth, but the mix lost definition as it made it muddy that everything was pretty much washed out, maybe it's more an EQ issue, but then again I wasn't tring make that the main thing in the mix.

Maybe I could add more stuff when it kicks in, but it feels transparent enough being simple like that and getting bit complex further on in the mix. We'll see what the labels say.

There are a lot of tracks on the forum that are so complex (like 10 melodic arps going on at once, 5 percussion parts, ect ect) you can't really get into the tune (it loses its musical quality and sounds like noise), and that's not my intention at all for any of my tracks.

Thanks for the constructive feedback anyway

I quite like this one, very warm feeling about it. Love the subtle break and smooth buildup. It's not that energetic, but more like a feel-good track for me.

Good job! Never hesitate to send something out

Bye,
Wim

listening.. reminds me of "Alt F4" alot, main synths are good.. those upper leads could use some more attention.. and i think u need to punch it up a notch after the breakdown... otherwise all good

Not a bad idea... I like low pad basslines too... I might add one.

Hey Gerry,

Nice tune... its got a strong feel good vibe.

I agree with others that it could benefit from a little more low-end, maybe in the pads. The bass seems a litle light too, though I love the skippity feeling it has.

Short sample, but I enjoyed it!
Trevor

Thanks

Solange is playing it tonight... Let's see how it goes down, and what I may need to change or not.

excellent track!
really liked it!

Posted by RickyM on Feb-13-2005 13:58:

Sounds really cool Gerry. Very chilled and well produced. Any chance of sending me a full MP3?

Posted by alexpea on Feb-13-2005 14:26:

The melody is sweet Though it plays for over one minute in the break, and therefor I'm already tired of it when the takeoff comes. And btw - you have to add much more energy when it's a takeoff. Yours is after two minutes. Just adding percs isn't enough. But I have to say I like the melody, hehe.

Posted by BshidoHEAT on Feb-13-2005 16:55:

Nice track! Please don't take this the wrong way when I say it reminds me of an anime, that's a good thing sir!

Posted by kopi_luwak on Feb-14-2005 02:49:

Brother, this track is extremely sweet, that intro sounds very new age,and those bells are so fresh.Man I am loooking to you to post this full track someday, mean while I will listen this sample .
Btw,u did a great work with the mastering, but I agree about the pads .
Kopi =o.

Posted by gerrycueto on Feb-14-2005 03:03:

Thanks the track will hopefully get picked up by Enhanced or Monster Force.. since I'm talking to Will about and he's interested... you can hear the full version when it comes out.

I like the pads not being bassy, although I like bassy pads. I guess you'd have to hear the whole track to understand why the pads aren't bassy, but if the label says to bass up the pads, then I guess i have no choice. It's not the typical megapads breakdown I'm used to like in Salty Rain remix or Seashells... I think it's good to hear some soft pads in trance sets too... don't want everything sounding the same. We'll see how it goes from here

Posted by tylerc on Feb-14-2005 04:19:

sounds very nice man. sound quality is nice and the structure is simple, but effective. i think the reason that synth sounds so much like alt+f4 is cuz not only is it almost the same sound, its playing the exact same rhythm.

anyway, nice work on this and good luck wit hthe release.

Posted by eulerfx on Feb-14-2005 15:09:

nice uplifting track!

not too much to add really, pads sound good to me.

Posted by GLD on Feb-14-2005 15:58:

yes nice one, but really too happy for me, i like it dark and growly . the bassdrum sounds strange, did you stereo-spread it? production quality is ok, a little bit more power on the lower frequencies and it's ok. but i think it's just not my style, i don't like it sorry
