De

use Ctrl+Alt+Del to get the Task Manager and tell us whats running when you have your errors (if this is an option).

Tell us what program youre using for music, and what version of Windows youre using, including any applicable service packs.

Have you recently installed anything? Tried searching for viruses and malware?

If you haven't already, pickup an anti-virus and a firewall, preferably a good one that costs money. If there's a bastard virus or spyware or malware causing shit, those two combined will put a stop to that. Try not to use IE too much either.

If it's saying something about NTFS, your drive might not be formatting properly. If you can, try a low-level format before reinstalling the OS next time. your BIOS should have an option, otherwise most harddrive manufacturers have free software that does it.

reformatting isnt as simple as deleting everything...my best advice is get a clean install disk, and if you need boot disks or anything go to the nearest barnes and noble or borders or local book store (lol MT) and read that shit without buying it. i had a hell of a time reformatting my 2k comp...but it worked and any computer i get in the future will be reformatted immediately|

freezing when hitting playing winamp? .. is it winamp 5? <== big memory hogger .. blue screen of death ??

after reformating your drive, and getting that message, it prob means that your system is not handling your virtual memory correctly .. if you say you have a "pos" system, then that prob means that you don't have much RAM in your computer ..

my computer used to page constantly when i had a "pos" 128 mb ram computer .. then, i expanded to 256 mb ram, and all of a sudden, i rarely ever got a blue screen or deadly stop messages ..

i say check your virtual memory .. windows probably did not set it for you when you reformated your drive..
