Choir SAMPLE banks

If anyone tells me to check the stickies/ use the search button, I'm going to slap him (because I did, and did not find what I'm looking for)

Does anyone have sample cds (or a good refill, but I doubt this) with a huge range of choir samples (GOOD quality ones, I can already make some crappy ones)

Examples: E-razor - mantra or Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (signum remix)

I'll buy sample cds if anyone knows of great ones Thanks

The best choir sample cd's in my opinion are :

Symphony of Voices by Spectrasonics ( http://www.spectrasonics.net/librar...phonyvoices.php )
Voices of The Apocalypse by Quantum Leap ( http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml...ml?sku=QLVOTAGS )

Those feature real choirs, excellently sampled. Just check out the sites, they have demos.

LOOPS?!

You mean there aren't any long held notes so I can create my own chords? That's what I'm after

hypersonic and sonik synth 2 are great for those kinda sounds though.

Eh? I'm 99% sure that Symphony of Voices is not just plain old .wav loops. It's an AKAI-format CD afterall, which surely just means loading it into a sampler (such as Kontakt) and playing it like any other instrument?

Someone please confirm this

Nop, they are not, unless you downloaded one of the (illegal) converted versions.

Symphony of Voices is an AKAI cd, so it's made to be loaded into a sampler.
Voices of the Apocalypse can be bought either in AKAI or Gigasampler format.

They are exactly that, long held notes, for different vowels and all, with separate samples for releases.
Of course, there are loops included, for some more complicated variations (dedicated spoken words).

With the official cd's, you either need a compatible sampler, or a conversion program (like CDXtract) to convert them to waves (but then again, you lose the envelope and sustain info...).

And yes, I own the official cd's. They are used once and a while to provide choirs in film scores I work on (well, it's not me that programs them, but hey, I got them )

if you use VOTA on gigastudios, it comes with a utility to create your own words, how fuckin cool is that!!!! make them say fuckin lord of the rings chants or something lol, and its really smooth in the way it does it. you type what you want it to way in english, and automatically it translates it into the way you'd type it phenetically for pronounciation purposes, so it's a breeze...very cool stuff!!! they're coming out with a new library called symphony of choirs i think its called (same company that made VOTA and its even more expensive (like 999) or something insane like that, but even more improved then its predesesor of course. i think if you go to www.soundsonline.com you can watch a video demo of that one.

cheers

Logic's EXS24 synth has an 'extreme digital' preset called 'slow vox'. If you eq it right, add some release and tweak the attack it sounds very realistic. Its certainly no substitute for a live choir sound or even sample but it works for me.
