Morillo Review

Wow, I can't believe I'm the first one reviewing this, since I know at least a few TAs went. Well I got there at 12, skipped the line and the place was already packed. He wasted no time dropping bomb after bomb after bomb, then came the peformances. I didn't mind the two divas I was actually really into it, but when P Diddy came on it just seemed like he was on there forever. At first it wasn't too bad, but he had to be MCing at least for 30 minutes, so that definitely killed the mood for me. I bounced around 5, which is when Erick started playing the darker less anthemic stuff. Overall, even though I expected not to have room to dance, it was a pretty decent night. One question is does it get this packed for Sander, is there actual room to dance?

Some tracks I remember:

Dancin
The Kill Bill Bang Bang Song
Gadjo - So Many Times
Paul Masterson - What U got, What U Do
7 Nation Army (Tim Deluxe Remix)
Morillo - What Do You Want
Audiobullies - Break Down The Doors

I actully went to Crobar but after the crazyness going out side (just alot of people and they where atleast all 30 or up .They kept sending me to wrong people saying this is Bradley Rose guestlist .Then a bouncer told me to go inside and look for him???? So I did and some guy asked me you to go to guest and pick a show???

So I foundout there was 2 shows going on. Theres Erick Morillo in one room and P.Diddy and some other morons there. But now Toxa says P.Diddy came on stage during Erick Morillo now I am glad I never came and next time I hope they get there shit togther outside. So yeah I ended up going to Avalon NY plus my friends where overthere.

ya morillo has the sickest skills with the cdjs and efx 500. i was goiung nuts to all the shit he was doing. he was mixng in various accapellas in and out and looping tracks seamlessly for 10-15 mins..i never heard a dj live do that type of shit. every other dj just mixes in arecord and mixes out. morillo on other hand is always active, also the only dj that actually goes nuts in the booth. everyother dj just stands there bored lol. but ya..1st hour when he came on was insaneee, every track, he was doing fx and looping shit to. the performances were annoying as hell, too many breaks and pauses. P didy needs to stfu, he made me think i was at a rap concert for an hour..i wasnt feeling him at all, god why wasnt he shot instead of biggie haha but yea..i left at 5:00 cuz i had work this morning, now im tired as hell. time to take a power nap lol.

btw wtf were all the ta's at? i only saw vlad there. dont tell me all you guys went to wank and jones and shitty avalon? anyways..im out

i mostly stayed right next to the stage (to morillo's right).
Yeah Chris you're absolutely right about Morillo's skills, kinda puts djs like PVD, Armin, and Tiesto down in my books considering the only thing they do is go from record to record (and sometimes even have trouble doing just that).

Apparently Ja Rule was there also, mostly in the Rap Room drunk out of his mind. All that was missing was a shooting...

Time to go practice my looping

sounds like i missed a good time, i'll have to check him out next time... for me, the sickest people i've seen behind the decks are zabs and cox... so i guess i'll have something else to look forward to with morillo.

as for sander, yeah it gets crazy packed but you can always find room

ye, morillo, cox, and zabiela are definitely the best 3 in the world skill wise. No one even comes close...

I hate em too.

Morillo kicked major ass, P.Diddy was alright, but the jackass talks way too god damn much.

I gotta thank Alex for hooking up the VIP/Comp, that was really clutch, and it was awesome chillin with you at the club.

Chris - it was awesome chilling with you on the dancefloor, honestly, if you werent there, I probably would have left way earlier than I did.

Honestly, I dont give 2 shits what Morillo plays, cause he played Dancin' (Fuzzy Hair Remix) - that shit made my night.

ur rite but you cannot exclude Eddie Halliwell... until you see him perform and see him stand up on da turn tables to pose like he owns you, you have seen nothing!! that man is a technical genius, u'll c him in miami (if ur goin) or listen to his essential mix tonite

It was a great night. I had to be there because i missed his last show in NYC after Thanksgiving day. He played a reall awesome set from the very first song when i arrived till the last one. I was kinda surprised to hear Bang bang but it was GOOD.
Yeah Dancin was there and much much better stuff from "2 Sides of my World" like "What do you want" and "Rock you Body" were featuring by actual singers.
I liked the show and i like P.Diddy. I got some respect for this guy.

MONSTER TUNE

even though Dancin is a few years old.....I guess he kinda had to play it and cater to the big room crowd. Have never seen him at Discoteque afterhours, but im guessing he would never play a 2 year old anthem at the beginning of the night.

and as for eddie halliwell, i definitely need to check him out.
