Manvel - Touched by the Wind

After long hours of production the track is complete!

I'm realy proud of this track because I tried many new sounds/approaches when working on it. The name isn't a "copy" of Envio's tune's name...it's more of the feeling I get when listening to this track .

Title: Touched by the Wind
Length: 9:09
Size: 6.29 mb

Enjoy!
Comments and feedback is always appreciated

*UPDATE* If for some reason you cant download the full 9 minutes of the track please try again at a later time...my host tends to cut off the file at maximum downloads. sry

- i like how the melodies enter the mix, and how they create a good atmosphere with subtlety
- breakdown is nice, good to hear lots of attention to detail, though those bg pads could be a bit louder maybe
- melody that comes 3:48 should stand out more imo
- before the kick comes back, you should put in a noise swell to build up tension more
- must be because of quality, but the mix sounds a but muted
- overall, nice track - very much up to the standards of modern trance

Good track mate, I feel that everything melds well together in the mix. Nicely produced with a warm feel to it.

I'm not particularly impressed with it melody-wise though... I've heard this way too many times recently. I'm missing a nice hookline of some kind.

Other than that, nice tune!

Cheers,
Wim

I'm glad u noticed the detail in the break man . I worked on the break for a long time hehe. I was thinking of putting a noise swell kinda effect before the climax like u suggested but I thought it would be too much...i decided to keep the track as clean as possible at the end.

@Pascal -

Glad you enjoyed the track m8. We should start working on our track soon...I've got an old render of it on my hd here...if u wanna check it out drop me a line.

Well look who it is...

You know I told myself that I would mail u a copy of my first ever signed vinyl just to get back at u for everything u did. remember this? "you will never be anything or get anywhere...etc.." well I'm about to prove u wrong mofo

glad u liked the track tho lol.

cool intro

omg the leads own! I love the sounds and synths... I would have chosen a different sounding guitar synth tho

the mix sounds good and the kick is phatness... the whole track is full and phat... there's nothing to complain here

I guess I'd have to hear it in hifi to to see how the highs sound since the high hat reverb is too long in the beginning... I would have shortened it, btu that could be my taste.. love that Italian sounding guitar riff towards the end.

Posted by Manvel on Feb-14-2005 02:09:

Glad u like it Gerry

About the reverb on the perc...It was intentional. The reverb makes the percussion sound more full when played together imo. The guitar rif was influenced by Armenian/Arabic sounds :P.

what can i say, everytime track iv heard from you so far is very impressive, very pro, very enjoyable. Definatly a real fine producer Manvel mate.

hey manvel, this rocks! i swear i know i heard this somewhere before, hmmm maybe in a set, but u just said u just finished it thats REALLY wierd

anyways, this is fantastic, nice quality trance, great melody
keep it up

overall quality production, percs seem to be top notch.

the way the gated synth comes in the beginning of the build doesn't sound very good

apart from that, top notch, shame bout the 96k, i would happily support this

Posted by GLD on Feb-14-2005 16:25:

nice beginnig of the track, i like the bass and the moving synth playing right from that point the bass came in. guitar is a cool idea, makes me want the summer back even more . quality seems to be very good, as far as i can tell from that poor quality version (gimme a 192 damn ) the guitar has to be louder i think in the break when cut off at high frequencies, the leadsynth takes too much room in the frequency band, it's just too loud! cool track, really enjoyed listening. but why such a stoopid name?

@coldheaven - Dont worry man summer is just around the corner woot!

@Luke - Ya I know what u mean with the gated synth man... Ii had some problems transitioning it in :/. Hopefully the track will get picked up by a label and I'll be able to send you a promo .

Sounds very professional and similar to a lot of stuff on ASOT and Somatic Sense. I think this is the second track I've heard from you and I gotta say I'm very impressed with the quality of your tracks =)

Thanks Noree! It's great getting support from fellow Armenians . Part of why I'm doing this is to expose Armenians to real Trance music. They need to get away from the commercial cheese crap they see on t.v. and respect this stuff :P

hey!!

i can't download your track complete (only 3:29).

 i like the beginning
1:30 to 2:30 it's kind of repetitive (some of the variations may stand out, add fx or filters something more noticeable)
that break is really nice (but i can hear about 30 seconds of break, so i wonder how is the rest)
there's some noise at 2:58 and repeats REMOVE IT PLEASE!! (one of your sounds need some freq cut, or maybe is a deficient audio recording)

by the way, what happened with that remix of first embrace?
i would like to add it to my case.

Still my fav production from you which I love playing during live broadcasts

Let me know when I've got a greenlight to throw it in a mix for download bro.
