ridiculous.

Posted by mmmyummybacardi on Feb-15-2005 01:12:

not really when markets like new york la miama and a crapload of other places want the same djs of course a place like calgary isnt going to get the good dates

Posted by r1m2k1 on Feb-15-2005 07:19:

It all comes down to the mighty dollar. Big and popular clubs have more cash to spend on getting acts to come down and spin. With a smaller market like Calgary, clubs here just don't want (or can't afford) to pony up a whole lot to get a well known DJ to spin. The DJ probably want more $$$ to play on the weekend vs. a day like Wednesday. Well at least that's my guess.

Any people in the know want to comment on this?

Digweed in CGY

I was there that year he played at Whiskey during the Stampede. What day was that again? I don't think I have ever been that drunk that early. The BBQ upstairs caught on fire, the place was dripping wet from all the people and Diggers dropped Moby Go! and Age of Love (Jam n Spoon mix) and ended with the POB mix of Heaven Scent.

There are also body painted B&H girls and guys on swings. The best part besides Diggers? Jager shots on ice inside a B&H ice block.

Ohh memories.

you're an idiot, what were you expecting fluffy tiesto trance? digweed played an amazing set, some of the best progressive you'll ever hear, you obviously dont know anything about digweed if you were expecting different music, anyways best night I've had in a long time cary played a great opening set and digweed and luke fair rocked it, the club looks awesome with the new renovations, great night!

Posted by r1m2k1 on Mar-21-2005 17:52:

I had an awesome time, things really got going about half way into Luke Fair's set. I thought Digweed's set was okay, although I remember a more rocking set back when he was playing at the Whiskey many years ago.

are you guys

on crack?
digweed was incredible last night
baffles me how anyone can say he was "okay"
yes he did start a little slow but that is digweed for ya
he is the master of building up a set
the final hour he was slaying that place
defo goes into one of my top 3 ever

Posted by mmmyummybacardi on Mar-22-2005 03:14:

wow someone that knows what they're talking about finally

Posted by Ground_0 on Mar-22-2005 07:24:

ya it was a bangin set by digweed.

Started off nice and mellow, and was just amazing for about the last hour. Transitions were bang on the whole time, wicked track selection and a good crowd too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying his set was anything less than stellar Digweed quality, I just simply liked his July 2002 set at the Whiskey more so than this one. I was totally pumped to see him back then after hearing his delta heavy essential mix with sasha and I just bought his GU: Hong Kong compilation a few months before then.
