Pissed Offfffff

I just fucking lost all of my music,a nd the drive it was on. It just randomly stopped working, I tried everything I knew to fix it, then I try to reformat and it gives me errors at the end of the reformatting. Damnit I'm soo pissed. I lost so many great tracks.

Better yet, get an external 160 gb hd @ 7200 rpm for around 140$ and back your shit up on it for future.

ha! happened to me just a few weeks ago. turns out the sucker (160 gig) just overheated. i let it sit a bit, n then hooked her back up, worked like a charm. however, a while back, i lost a 40 gig with a good amount of livesets on it.

oh, that reminds me.

The only way a drives data is unrecoverable is if the plate the drive reader/writer head writes to is shattered or has numurous scratches on it (which is probably not the case).

Did you try using any data recovery programs? Or can you not get the computer to recognize the drive anymore?

The drive was not recognized at all. I tried reconnecting/waiting/everything and it didn't work. I figured I'd lost all the data anyway so I tried to reformat the drive but that didn't work either, so I guess I'll just have to get this:

that sucks. like they said, back it all up. i have back-ups from about two years ago, so if my hardrive ever took a turn for the worst, ill be two years outdated in musik, hundreds upons hundreds of hours lost. and i have minimum virus protection, my subsription to Norton expired..
