Don't worry about hearing loss...

When you listen to loud ass music it destroy and deforms little tiny hair cells in your ear which are used to pick up sound frequencies. Once they are destroyed they can't grow back .....until now...

Cliff Notes - scientists used gene therapy to regrow previously ungrowable hair cells in a guinea pig's ear.




this is cool cause age related hearing loss is exactly this...hair damage.

vivid must have great hearing

stick some gel in there too so ur hair sticks up and becomes more receptive

i believe its in the cochlea of the inner ear where our little hearing hairs reside. we lose dozens everyday just throught normal hearing, imagine with club musik pumping into your ears every weekend.

no we don't lose them everyday. if ya really want to know, the hair fibers are located inside the cochlea between the basilar membrane and the tectorial membrane, all of which make up a structure known as the organ of corti. When the BM vibrates to the frequency of teh sound it also moves the tectorial membrane which causes the fluid inbetween to stream across the tops of the hairs, which is then believed to cause the excitation of the inner hair cell that causes the action potential.






plus we only have like 3,500 hair cells with about 40 'hairs' each. if we lost them daily we'd sukc at teh hearing.
