Which parties are worth doing on Europe?

Im looking to go to europe in their summer this year.

The only problem is that there 5000 festivals to choose from with absolutely crazy lineups (by Australian standards).

I mean theres GKGG, creamfields, homelands, coloursfest and thats just in the UK let alone holland and what not.

Which parties are worth it and which are rubbish?

fixed.

depends what you are into, where you will be and when, and of course your budget.

though most "trance" events are a range of house, prog, tech, and other stuff these days. europe is very house crazy. only recently has the popularity of house spilled over to oz (i was over many of the current chart tracks half a year ago after hearing them being banged out constantly in the clubs in europe).

anyways...

GKGG lineup last year killed creamfields lineup (though last minute addition of sasha to c/fields was sweet!).

The dutch TA's seem to swear by Dance Valley.

For a Vandit filled experience, and PVD overkill, hit Berlin for Love Week (love parade, love from above, fritz radio, + others)

and you gotta do a Sensation at least once in your life. I went to white 2004 and it still rates as the best indoor club experience i've had ever. just all the dutch will tell you it's ghey but you can tell them to shove it in their pot-smoking pipes.

thanks heaps dude, much appreciated.

Im definitely doing sensation but i really want to do dance valley too.

GKGG also looks the goods, the 2004 lineup had every dj ive ever wanted to see on the one bill!!

Hopefully these arent too expensive....

I would go to, when i go again,

Sensation (Just to see the magnitude of it all, it's amazing!)
Gods Kitchen Global Gathering
Love Parade (if its on, if not, dont bother, BUT berlin is a awesome city!)
Dance Valley

wouldn't mind checking out creamfields for some alternative dance.

oh and i REALLY want to go to

I Love Techno, and Innercity seems like a really cool diverse indoor event.

the first thing that pops up in my mind when someone mentions Techno is MAYDAY, europe's (and maybe the world's) largest annual techno and tech-trance event! Nowadays they have it in several countries but it all started out in Germany and that's of course the biggest Mayday of them all www.mayday.de check it out

btw, are you guys okay with a european posting around? otherwise I'll leave quietly

Posted by LucasYork on Feb-16-2005 17:45:

oo ibiza is over-rated!!

well it's ok, but overun by brits and so many tourists now!

there are so many wild islands in europe, greek islands, crotian islands, a few off sweden also... PARTY PARTY ISLANDS... you can only find out about most of these by asking europeans themselves and they know...

way too much to do to europe, if you lived in london and had a decent job, youd be busy all year travelling all around ....

but u need $$$

enjoy it! i went over last yr and im going back this yr..

skip america = way overrated - did that too! lol

Oh man, heaps of people from inthemix, here and everywhere are in europe.

I caught up with a bloke off inthemix in london, and then i freakin realised it was a guy who i actually bought records off in adelaide. then one beer turned into 5 beers and homelands!!

i met an mc at an rnb club in angel, who was just in adelaide mcing with a drum n bass dj, and he gave me a free ticket!! lol talk about luck

there is even a forum on ITM for people overseas...and its great if u have people to travel with. I was alone and when i was in rome, which i loved.. i would of liked someone to party with.

anyway yeh

travelling is awesome if u got cash to burn D:

dude, make it happen.

just arrange to meet up for drinks beforehand, or even at a local club event or something, or before an event overseas.

i met some peepz at sensation and we saw each other again at berlin LFA and fight the power. it was good party times

be cautious of the helmet lady though. she bites :P
