Phil K & Habersham - Cloudbrake - Out Now

Phil K & Habersham - Cloudbrake

AT014 - A Side - Original Mix

B Side - Lexicon Avenue Remix

_
As far as collaborations go you cannot get much better than the meeting of minds of Phil K and Habersham and their track Cloudbrake just proves that fact.

The original is an absolute monster of a breaks mix with a bassline that leaves you feeling as if you have just been gutted by a samurai, this has been complimented by a blinding mix from Lexicon Avenue who have utilised all the key parts and added their own tribal house twist to the sound.

Phil K has been a legend on the breaks scene for well over a decade now and is well regarded as one of the main pioneers of this sound , he has produced under numerous guises such as Hi-Fi Bugs , Dark Alley and teaming up with Luke Chable to form Lo-Step who signed to GU Music have recently had huge success and even managed to get Sasha to remix one of their tracks.

Habersham is no stranger to Audio Therapy with 2 releases under his belt so far as well as a whole host of work for his own Blueprint label and many others consequently being seen as one of the fastest rising production talents of 2004.

With such a package support and hype for this track has been immense, John Digweed has featured both mixes on radio shows, in his charts and setlists since he first received it.

Sasha has also hammered it during his Involver tour all over the world and the original has gained a lot of attention from the breaks community from our initial mailout and will no doubt become more sought after with the appearance of the original on Phil K's very own Y4K CD due out on Distinctive Breaks.

Plays on Radio 1 from Annie Nightingale and John Digweed on Kiss Fm.

"One of those tracks that will stand the test of time." trance.nu

"Really like this , Lexicon Avenue Remix is my favourite." Satoshi Tomiie

"A secret weapon for those with enough sense to obtain a copy."

The original is a decent tough edged breaks tune that reminds me a bit of Dark Alley's 'The Roots'. I wasn't impressed by Lexicon Avenue's effort though... just dark plodding prog with some tribal influences. Lexicon Avenue has certainly come up with better stuff before and I think they could really use some fresh ideas these days...

great tune. Lexicon avenue remix is a blinder.

The original mix always gives me a lil feel of Sasha - Rabbitweed.
