Anyone ever had a Kidney infection?
Im not posting here for medical advice, just curious thats all.
Ok so since about the thursday before last my whole bladder area has been killing me... kills like mad, feels like i need to piss all the time and blood was coming out when i did pee...i thought sod that, i'll go to the hospital and get it checked out (doctors were closed on sat evening). Done a urine sample and was diagnosed with a very very severe bladder infection... so was given a course of antibiotics (200mg of something twice a day) that would last 5 -6 days and told to drink atleast 3 litres (about 8 pints i think) a day
After bout 4 days the pain had pretty much gone (even though i was constantly on ibupofen it was still painful)...now im in really baad pain again not just in my bladder but where my kidneys are... it really is agonising.
Does this sound like my bladder infection could have spread to my kidneys?
I will be going to the doctors tomorrow evening, they're fully booked all day.

yes it is 100% possible that the infection in your bladder could have travelled up to your kidneys, although if you took the whole course of antibiotics, it should have cured whatever bug you had in the first place... you may need stronger antibiotics....
Kidney infection is the sign of a quality partier, you and I could get along just fine.
Look at it like a battle scar.
Doctors appointment is in an hour so i'll let you know how it goes.

Been to the docs, got a type of Penicilin to take and got to wait for some results to come back from the lab. Doctor confirmed it is a Kidney Infection.
Ok so i thought i'd update you guys. Tests came back showing that i was immune to the first and second lots of pills. Im on a new kind "guarenteed to work" but thats what they said about the other ones.
Blood tests show it has spread from my kidneys to the lower regions of my liver and i have to go back for a scan somepoint next week....im constantly taking pain killers too Im going paintballing on Sunday...its been planned for ages and paid for already so i cant drop out...this sucks.

I had this last year but the antibiotics they gave me worked before the infection could get to the kidneys so i was fine. Was not a nice experience though. feels like your insides are going to come out when you pee. 
I had a kidney infection back in '96...I was darn stubborn & didn't go to the doctor til it was well progressed & they wanted to hospitalize me.
I remember being completely out of it--near unconciousness & with a bad fever. Your kidneys help regulate your body temperature, so I remember feeling hot & cold, & generally woozy.
I'd really advise not going paint-balling (or ANYTHING too strenuous) ---chill out, drink lots of water & sodium (too much water will wash all your electroyles out, so mix it up with Gatorade or cranberry juice), & let the antibotics kick in. For me, it took the antibotics about 4 days to take some effect, & I wasn't at full strength for a couple of months after that.
Ok, well...another update.
Going down to the doctors tommorow. They've put me on pain killers that work for about an hour, then i have 3 hours of pain before i can thake another. They make me so drowsy that i cant drive becuase its too dangerous, yet i cant get to sleep at night (its 1:45 am here now).
Got a Ultra-sound scan on Tuesday next week....then another two weeks for the Results to come back! NHS Sucks Donkey dick! My local hospital said that i was over-reacting when i was pissing out nothing but blood every 5 mins! Grrr.
Anyway still in alot of pain, only way to describe it is it feels like im winded from being puched in the stomach Constantly...The doctors have no clue what it is and its worrying me since the pain is moving away from my Kidneys and further in towards the centre of my body and feels like its moving further up (to the point where the ribcage separates in two)
Anyone have any ideas?
Wow dude, I'm really feeling sorry for you Get better okay? I had a UTI once and that shit was bad enough, I can't imagine what you're feeling... Get well soon!
