Killer tracks... or kill myself tracks.

In the weird and wacky world of DJ promos you get sent some real junk sometimes. But I have recieved these two tracks recently and I think someone is having a laugh because this is just too funny.

Needless to say these will not be making it to my top 10. And before you ask I actually found the Mp3s on Juno I didn't bother to make them myself. Although it worries me that I even bothered to do that... have a listen see what you think... don't think they will be in your top 10 either or?

The Great Bouzouki

Jump all Around

Might try selling them on e-bay unless someone really badly wants them.

Would be nice to share some real disasters with you guys so let us hear what you got.

Cheers
Nem

If I was in a club and either of those got played I would seriously consider storming the booth and breaking the record. Just listening to them makes me angry. How on earth can people sign crap like this?

Posted by dj jasonF on Feb-17-2005 16:02:

*for the record*even greeks hate them... no one plays them here.

lol

Posted by Steve Stephano on Feb-17-2005 16:05:

At least you didn't buy this kak, hehe... that would be too embarrassing.

Posted by jusware on Feb-17-2005 16:39:

They sound like rejected tracks from an old school video game ie: sega genesis or turbo graphics 16.

Posted by Freak on Feb-17-2005 16:39:

Thats gotta be poparazzi or power than sent you them....

I was sent the first- thought i was an early april fools. Sounds like a remake of zorbas dance

erm...the amount of shite that aatw send out is unbelievable!!!!!

I cant be assed with lists anymore- i normally have the stuff i want months before its sent out anyway, as i look out for whites and test presses by keeping my ear to the ground....

no experience like this, but funny story nonehteless:

friend once bought Drunken Monkey's "Gratification" (Disc One) from Hooj, http://www.discogs.com/release/168381

excellent record, both sides. we still play it now and then. so he's in US again some years ago, goes in a record store (forget the neame) and all the records were sealed, no turntables in the store to listen to them with. so he bought some based on names. did buy a couple killers, like FC Kahuna - Nothing is Worng/Machine Says Yes (incl. Radio Edit, Tiga and Josh Wink Remixes), Mavi - Fallen, etc.

he came across a Drunkenmunky record, (http://www.discogs.com/release/249454) which he assumed was by the same producer that had made the previously mentioned one. he does notice it to be a bit weird, but he looks at the label... Ultra Records. they've released stuff by Sasha, Sven Vath, John Selway, The Thrillseekers, Silicone Soul, so he guessed it'd be good. he guessed wrong. he buys it.

this would have a lot more kick if i had an mp3 sample... but basically, it's a hardhouse (and quite gay) rework of Eminem's Without Me. the look on his face was priceless when he got home, mentioned how he got another Drunken Monkey record, opened it up and put it on the deck for the first time...

why not? you could submit it to discogs.com

pretty cool, even if it is a shitty track

also, if you can set up an mp3 sample for everyone to hear, itd be funny

Posted by RJT on Feb-20-2005 12:59:

WOW...

I instantly have faith that someday I too could get a record deal.

Thanks for the laugh at work M8, Peace, Cheers,

RJT
