Hey guys, I have a question for school which I could use someones help on

What's a not-for-profit organization that tries to manipulate news here in Canada?

If I'm not mistaken, the CBC is a not-for-profit organization... and an argument can be made that they manipulate the news!

Just the act of choosing what to report on and how is news manipulation if you ask me.

the CBC is a crown corporation and organized as a corporation. Not a non-for profit org.

try the United Way and such.

why you ask? Well every year the UW makes a huge push for people to donate for their 'cause'. They get on you the streets, at home, on the net, and at work.

I believe they manipulate people, because they make it seem as if our hardships are soo overwhelming. I would much rather contribute money which goes to Africa, India, Indonesia...etc.

I know many people may not agree with me, but thats how i feel

I would try to google up some lobby groups or think-tanks.

Often they are not-for-profit themselves even though their goal is to line the pockets of the industry they are campaigning for, and are fronts for big-business or religous/moral groups.
