Sasha/Digweed Vancouver?????????
HELLOOOOO, if they're already gonna be so close in edmonton and calgary why isn't anyone bringing them up to vancity???!!!!
Is the progressive scene in van really that weak?
It's breaking my heart.
both the edmonton and calgary shows are heavily subsidized. to actually pay for a sasha/digweed show here would need 1000 people paying over $70 which would never happen. But yes, the Vancouver scene is going into the toilet it seems, its all greed now, but in reality thats the way it goes and people should be happy that most of the huge talent has been through town instead of complain
both sasha and digweed are outplayed and outdone they should hang up their headphones its time for james holden to take over
Yeah James Holden is the shit for sure, but I still have love for Sasha and Digweed.
Me rikey James Holden <3
Please bring him!
re Holden
Have you guys actually seen Frodo (aka Holden) DJ live? He's a lot more producer than he is a DJ. No presence, suspect mixing. Can't really say I was disappointed but really underwhelmed.
haha I cant believe what you just said Anton...
Especially James Holden of all people...

Sarsha - Element - Apr 22
Well, it didn't look like Sasha was coming here in April, so I took a short trip down to Seatown for his set @ Element.
I think we can all agree that sets vary and differ depending on the mood of the DJ, and to some extent, what kind of crowd.
For his more recent stuff, I've heard his Guangzhou set, Aria set (my fave of the lot), Jan Kiss mix, Arena Pier PR set and the Maven Proton/Orlando set amongst others .. and the set he threw in Seattle was not at all like any of the aforementioned sets.
Harder trancey stuff with some prog woven in parts, no breaks. I spoke to a few ppl there, and they too said it wasn't quite what they were expecting.
I couldn't recognize most of the tunes, which was a good thing, as I thought his Kiss mix was a bit unimaginative, but also kind of a bad thing, as I wanted to experience (in person) what his Ableton/Maven setup was able to do.
Still, it was an enjoyable set. Very intense peak time stuff. I wouldn't say it's the best set I've ever experienced, but definitely not boring
US$25 for both him and Porter, not bad at all
Digweed will be here on June 12 check clubvibes for more info.
