scary game recommendations?

Hi!

So I'm looking for some good scary/horror games to PC, I've already played RE1, 2, 3, that game you escape from a prison (I forgot the name heh), Silent Hill 2, 4 (wasn't really satisfied with that game, it got boring in the end), Doom 3 (crap).

All tips are welcome

greetings

Pasi

If only Fatal Frame 1 and 2 were on PC...

I know you said for the PC, but I do see you've played RE1,2, and 3 so I would highly suggest you get RE4 for the Gamecube. I cannot even begin to explain how amazing this game is, in every way, and scary too. Its a perfect 10 in my book and worth buying the GC just for this game if you don't already own one.

That sounds interesting, but it's not a first person shooter right? I think I saw something that looked liked a FPS mode in the screenshots before it got released.
Will it be released to PC?

keep em' coming

...and that doesn't even do the game justice.

I believe that they are using a modified FPS system that maintains the historic feel of the game when moving but switches to a more normal configuration whenever you draw a weapon

RE4 is in 3rd person with the camera directly behind your character (Badass Leon)

but when you draw a weapon it shifts to an over-the-shoulder view that allows you to aim much better

I wouldn't say the camera switches. The cam is in the same position at all times. When you aim it sometimes zooms in a bit to give u a better view, but Leon is always on the left of the screen.

i found doom3 actually quite scary really

played at the wee hours of the morning with 5.1 sound full blast =\

had me looking over my shoulders many times -.-"

As Yan said... Fatal Frame was the scariest game I ever played. Damn...

Half Life 2 is good...I found it had several freaky moments.

Undying was well scary

System Shock 2

Although an old game, If you can put up with the graphics it has,

Ghosts

Random eerie Screams

Objects that move on its own

ie walk in a room, a chair might move out

Powerful monsters that can take you out easily,

Eerie Dynamic Music

And theres

Aliens Vs Predator Gold

I didn't find the sequel scary or good, the original is better for feel.

Play as marine and watch your motion tracker,

A Face hugger is instant death along with a HIGH PITCH SCREECH SOUND! They are hard to hear them coming, so watch your motion tracker

Come back when you've played either of them

Yeah I forgot to mention I've played both AVP1 and 2, they sure are scary. I'm gonna look up System Shock now.

RE4 isn't exactly "scary", but it's a damn good game. One of the best games of 2005 for sure and the reason why I bought a Gamecube.

I get my scare out of the Silent Hill series, been a huge fan of it since the first game on PSone. There's a movie in the making also, which makes me happy.

Fucking Doom 3. Play that with a 256mb video card, big screen and surround sound with lights off and it gets you going. By far the scariest game I played.

Posted by Bullet on Mar-09-2005 16:24:

You said, you've played Silent Hill 2 and 4?
Then you sure have to try Silent Hill 3!
This is so psychohardcorehorror.
OMFG. Although the story sucks in the end.

btw. SH4 was sooo boring

Posted by Nayil on Mar-09-2005 19:43:

silent hill 1 is the scariest game alive !

yeah but it gets annoying after a while. I mean, there is a lightning then a monster teleports or behind you a zombie, hidden in the dark, knocks you off etc.
Knowing that, it isn't scary anymore. However, the beginning is really good when you don't know what's happening.
