Jensen & Safranyos presents Cobalt Blue - Untamed (Mycron Remix)

hey guys,

i'm back again with a new track, i produced together with my friend called Kenneth Jensen aka Arctic Breeze together under our new alias called Cobalt Blue. Since we using different sequencers for music producing, we just didnt make any original mix of the track, just 2 different mixes based on the same midi file (like Fictivision vs. Phynn made it some time ago).

anyway, here's my version of the track called "Mycron Remix", i got lot of influences by some M.I.K.E. productions, so i hope you will like it,

Jensen & Safranyos presents Cobalt Blue - Untamed (Mycron Remix)

it's unmastered btw, and needs eqing i know,

all comments, suggestions would be very much appreciated,

cheers,

Be sure to check out the Arctic Breeze version of this track here

Peter

Very nice track man, the sound is good. I don't think you have the same style like MIKE, i think you have your own style

Great Work

Posted by AMP on Feb-20-2005 12:02:

Which is a good thing, your own style = quality.

Pretty high quality here. Track could use a bit more body, here and there it's a bit thin and too many highs. Especially the hats and claps need more low end, or should i say mid
Melody is sweet, bassline is even sweeter.
Waiting for the full :P

Keep up mate!

listening:

really like those melodies in the beginning there.... percussions sound phat and good as well... like the clap too.. melody is good yes... although i think the bass needs too be more upfront..melody reminds me of the good old MAGIK days..

good work 8/10

Good bass...
Really good lead.
I think you should add more precs.
and the lead sound is a little bit empty.

3.5/5
I can't wait for the full...

Really good lead.:eyespop

first

then
and the lead sound is a little bit empty.

maybe you mean melody at the first one? or else won't make sense.

ya i agree on that.

Very nice melody, but the lead sounded so sharp, it was cutting my ears, same with the perc.

Try to find a balance maybe? in the frequency spectrum.

Posted by gerrycueto on Feb-20-2005 17:53:

the open hat and clap sound a bit high.. like if you added resonance or something... you should lower that... this version is more of a chiller one than Arctic Breeze's, but they're both just as good.

im really liking this! Nice sounds and all good dreamy atmosphere. I read that you need to master and equalize some more so i wont go into that. Only thing u should really look at are your highs and mids, i think your track lacks a bit of mid frequency...to many highs and all, add some more mid and mayb some more lower frequency to fill up and the track will have some more body.

Just got around to listening to this, Pete. Nice job as always.
Things I liked
1. The synths you chose, nice and relaxing.
2. The melody, simple but uplifting.

Things I dont like:

1. That clap has GOT to go.
2. The mastering. Very empty sound spectrum, everything could be boosted and made to feel more full and pumping. Just seems flat as it is.

Keep up the work, speak soon on msn.

Love that bass, it has a sweet filtered edginess to it.

The faint melody you have after the fade out is really sweet and I can just bairly hear it! Deserves more prominance imho.

Filtered lfo at 1.32 is awesome... I really like the effect.

Theres this sort of highpitched sound on the highhat or clap... seems a little distracting, but it could be my crappy headphones.

Melody feels a bit repeditive at the start but I really like its progression after the breakdown.

Overall, a very cool track...

I really like it. Good good work. But I would have to agree that clap needs some work.

The synths are good overall. I like the breakdown. Nice effects, it's a good listen.

01:39: good build, but that string synth could use a bit more depth

your melodies are good too

shit though, better than anything i can produce yet

good work sirs

Hey Peter!

I love the melodies in this one. Structure-wise and looking at the overall choice of sounds, you did a good job I think.

I do think alot of synths are too much 'reson-ish', they sound too bleepy for my tastes. The whole mix seems to be having alot of highs as well. Though this is only on the production-side of things.

Take care,
Wim

Hi Peter,

I like this M.I.K.E style a lot! Very nice melody, looking forward to hear a full version!

Keep up the good work!

Posted by Klangzentrum on Feb-21-2005 20:09:

also, like artic breezes version, some quality stuff!

i like that its different to the other version...your one is more set on a chilled based...
very nice synth...has somehow a lil scottish feeling inside, imo!

also waiting for the full release of this one...

love that bassline. i think i'm getting some clicks on beats 1 and 3 from the bass and the kick interfering, but no one else has mentioned it so maybe i'm wrong. ooh nasty clap, dont really like that. give it some more mids. that synth that sticks around at 1:30 is really reason-y sounding. sounding good so far tho. keep it up.

Posted by RIPassion on Feb-22-2005 03:17:

I love it... but that CRAP! I mean, CLAP! wtf is that thing?! Sounds like my broken razor

I love the subtle distortion on the lead. Sweet sweet disortion.

Posted by Mycron on Feb-23-2005 19:00:

thanks guys, for all your comments, suggestions

as i already mentioned its unmastered, and still needs some eqing,

so i will fix the clap, and i will give some more mid frequencies at the eqing side,

cheers,

Peter
