HappyHappy [Trance] Node93 - Dream Dynamo (full 192kbps for DL; UPDATED!)

I started this track in December while playing around with some bass effects. It had some good ideas, but I left this project to do a track for Christmas. In fact, I based the Christmas tune entirely on the percussive lines of this one. I just recently got around to finishing it up, so here it is:

Node93 - Dream Dynamo

You can listen on the site, or you can click "Download" to DL the track. Feel free to use this track in your sets, etc (if it's worthy of that... lol)

EDIT: I just updated it 03/08/2005. The bass is better and the synths have been mastered a bit more. It should sound much better.

Comments, suggestions, etc are always welcome.

Meh... it's got lots of layers as opposed to one big massive lead. Maybe similar to Taste Experience or something like that. Personally, that's how I like my trance. Crazy polyphony.

nice

Nice track. I think you should put a digital delay line and maybe a compressor to make the sounds more alive ! But that's again a point of view and personal taste.

I've thought about using a compressor for some of the lines... I'm really quite terrible at mastering. I don't know if I'd add delay to this... some of the channels have delay (like the sine tone, for instance) but I figure it sounds busy enough... I don't want to make it even more busy by adding too much delay. I do have a delay plugin, so maybe I'll screw around a little.

Actually, I just did an inventory of all the synths I used... indeed, at 6:40 or so, you can hear everything at once. Crazy.

1) You can hear it coming in at about 1:00 - 1:10
2) Filtered in about 1:20-1:30, sounded on the offbeat... I'm thinking about lowering the volume of the highest octave and decreasing the resonance to make it sound less "horn-ish".
3) Sine tones
4) That really painful saw wave that gets a solo at about 4:00
5) The fast one with heavy delay, filtered in from 4:25 - 4:40
6) Main lead, 5:11
7) Pads
8) Bass
9) Carrying synths, there are 2 or 3 of these... one you can hear starting to come in at about 0:50-1:00 but it takes until about 1:40 until it's fully in.

No wonder you suggest Vadim Zuhkov on your site

Vadim's work does a lot of that, Mission 7 blew me away with all the elements in it. You are definately going for a similar goal. Lots of little melodies and harmonies going on.

I really like it. Some crazy effects too. It's got some drama to it. That epic kinda sound.

It is good, but some of the synths seem a tad "weak" not sure what you're using to produce here. But that longer "saw synth" that stays the same throughout the build and break down at about halfway through. That goes up 2 keys and down 2 keys-ish.... not sure if I like it.

I like this build though. Neatttt. Lots of stuff going on. I like it a lot. Great job overall.

Yes, I do love Vadim's work. He's amazing. Unfortunately, Vadim took all of his stuff off that site (his record label probably forced him to).

About that saw... you're talking about the one with the solo at 4:00? I filtered it a little to take some of the edge off, but perhaps it just needs a little more. I think it might be a tiny tiny bit flat (less than 1/4 of a semitone) as well.

Oh well... I'll work on it a little more. We'll see what comes of it.

I updated it. There's a new bassline and some mastering changes... I added compression on many of the synths and it sounds a bit bigger and better. The melody and progression is the same, and most of the synths haven't been changed much (save for a few minor alterations), but it should sound a bit better.
