-- will they be good forever or are they just about done
will they be good forever or are they just about done
Think about the artists you know and love.
the ones that have made albums with flawless choons....
how many of them do you think are likely to still be good in 5 years if they are still making music?
can u see them making original tunes in the future?
and if so, who are they?
Well...it's hard to know...Oakenfold used to be one of my favs but has gone downhill in the past few years...Meanwhile, Sasha has boosted his quality in mixing and producing...
I guess as long as artists don't become money whores, they should be as good or better in the future.
everything is transitory. most artists that i "know and love" don't even produce anymore.

DuMonde is pretty much done.
Although it hurts me to admit it, the signs are there, their vinyls don't sell that good anymore, everywhere people go 'Ahhh...I wish DuMonde made a track like 'Never Look Back' again', they get booked once a month, they've tumbled down the dj-list last two years, they made the Jambamobilephone tune.
It's sad, sad, sad, they don't deserve this great injustice. But it's how things go in life......
But...despite all this...I will support them till the bitter end!

yeah but there is one exeption,
5 years ago all that crappy trance was being made (i.e shitty unFX'd drums, unFX'd synths, etc..) but now that the standards are high there are sounds that people will always want to hear (e.g Prog, Chillout)
There are always changing trends in the electronic music scene, and the producers best apt at changing and progressing their style are the most likely to have the longest shelf-lives.
The main reason why PvD and Sasha have been carrying the torch for well over a decade. Don't see any reason why they'd stop now.
heheh yeah i gotta admit... I love sasha's stuff nowadays but i checked out magic and it was crrrrrrraaaaaaap
I think Leftfield got it right by retiring because they knew they would make throwaway garbage. At least they had a clue unlike the following people who should have packed it in years ago
