Sasha Review (Or lack there of)

Who went, How was it, I want all the supposedly gross details...

I heard from a friend who's friend went, that it sucked. They said Sasha was drunk, couldn't talk, and was using a computer to mix.

Are you saying Sasha never plays progressive tracks? C'mon, man. He doesn't limit himself to only house. I'm assuming you've never seen him.

You may be a little behind the times. Ableton is a live remixing tool which BT has been using for a while, and now Sasha.

I had the greatest time, me, Hope and my bro were there and also ex-dj, Kelly, rzo, not too many TAs but we were drinking and dancing it up. I didnt recognize too many tracks, I'm no ID whore, but Sasha played awesome stuff all night, ended with some remix of Orbital - Halcyon. Cool little club, the DJ booth is right there down with everyone. Sound system was pretty decent, lots of bass. Well thats the review from me . WMC afterparty with Sasha should be great !!

when was this?

Posted by djdl on Feb-21-2005 06:38:

u cant label sasha, he plays everything. he'll play some rock stuff too. he's got his own sound, extremely unique. its an experience every set sasha plays. and as far as the computer thing, you'll feel differently about it when u actually know wut he does. amazing.

I never said it was a bad thing. Was just brought to my attention that he did.

Posted by djdl on Feb-21-2005 06:51:

yea he uses it every set now. he says he's found his flow again after his custom mixer was built and now that he uses ableton. seeing him last night and hearing wut he did with it was just awesome. yes no actual beatmatching goes on, but we all know that he might be the best mixer in the world. and all that ultimately matters is wut what you hear anyways, so i dont mind it just get me dancing my ass off and im straight

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. Sasha does not playing anything close to house. Sasha plays progressive house/trance/breaks. So many people especially in this forum label genres and DJ's incorrectly. Check out one of Sasha's most recent sets, definitely no house music.

Sasha @ Kiss100 (02-01-2005)

01. Yoshimoto - Du What U Du (TrentMoller Remix)
02. System 7 - Planet 7 (Son Kite Remix)
03. Dirty Vegas - Walk Into The Sun (King Unique's V.I.P Dirty Dub Re-Edit)
04. Infusion - Love & Imitation
05. Chable & Bonnici - Ride (King Unique Remix)
06. Super Discount 2 - Fast Track
07. Slacker - Medicine (Theres Grace In Madness)
08. Guy Gerber - Stoppage Time (Dave Gardner & Sahar Z Haoman's 17 Mix)

If you're talking about house music then guys like Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Jay-J etc etc etc come to mind.

Sasha is the jack of all trades

He can play just about any style at any given time

Posted by ex-dj on Feb-21-2005 16:04:

yup, he played some house, some prog, and some breaks
quite different from his set in Tampa last year which was almost all breaks

I will have to disagree with the "it sucked comment". I was there and he kicked some ass. Very good night and it seemed like the whole place enjoyed it. Now as far as him being drunk, so what? So was everybody else. And it did not seem to make any difference as far as his music.

YOUR CONTINOUS POSTING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS MAKE YOU LOOK MORE OF A RETARD THAN I COULD EVER BE, PENDEJO!

Now how about NORMAL case for a fuckin' change!

And banning me from BLUE would be the gayest thing you ever did.

Not to mention, this is fuckin' TRANCEADDICT.com not progaddict, not houseaddict. You wanna see that shit, go to THOSE respective sites. They don't exist? Make it.

well, your friend is wrong Alexander Coe kicked major ass! Sasha was mad fucked up... and I think being drunk was just one of the elements contributing to that. He was being reallly funny, but it was not affecting his DJing skills AT ALL. And dood, he wasn't just using a computer... he had this amazing machine, I forget the name... but it's badass! Rzo has some close ups of it he will post (when he wakes up in 2 days LoL). I had so much fun with all the TAs... all 5 of them! WMC is going to be ... I can't wait!

He also played Danny Howells- I Feel Love towards the end of his set.

yep, sasha's famous for being ridiculously fucked up and STILL spinning mad sets!!!

don't remember all the details, and not sure it's true lol, but the story goes that there was one time he was somehow passed out in a ditch, someone found him, brought him to the club, and he went on to spin one of the sickest sets EVER
