It got torched on IMDB:

"If you liked the comic, you'll probably hate the movie. They took everything distinctive about the comic and made it into a cross between "Blade," "The Sixth Sense," and "The Heavenly Kid." If you like exploding demons and gimmick weapons, then go for it. They took a character-driven franchise, watered-down the character and gave the role to a guy that can't act. It'll probably sell a lot of tickets, kind of like the next Vin Diesel opus"

"Moronic and self indulgent Keanu Reeves vanity project lacks the heart and the wits of the comic book which it steals most of it's ideas form and ruins them with a horrible acting performance by Keanu Reeves, which looks more like he's reading from cue cards than remembering a script. The rest of the actors do better in their roles than he does"

I wouldn't waste my money on it to judge for myself. Based on the trailers it looked like another reprisal of his role in the matrix. Keanu can't act and that's no surprise. If all you're looking for action movie with cool special effects, you might very well be satisfied with it.

Please define good acting and provide an actor or actress that personifies your definition.

Even Yan edited his post to point out your mistake.

Sorry josh. I'm just a huge fan of his.

I thought some of the special effects were good, but the last 1/2 hour just fried my brain. God damn I still can't figure out what exactly happened.

^ Decent save.

other than the sequence with lucifer dressed in white playing reversed roles, i didn't find anything else thought-provoking about it.

then again, i guess it wasn't supposed to...

sum it up, i wouldn't pay blockbuster 4 bucks to see it on video...

It's not just my opinion that he's a bad actor, it's pretty much the consensus. He is only really good at playing action heros, where deadpan acting can be misinterpreted as macho and stotic. He is always playing the same type of character because he has no versitility or ability to act.

Almost anyone is better than Keanu. To name a few of the greats in contemporary cinema:
De Niro, Hoffman, Hopkins, Morgan Freeman...

You did not provide a definition of good acting. Versatility is not necessary in every actor/actress. You can be good at playing a certain role. Very few can play many. Just think of the many faces/roles available in any given movie. Now think of an actor who can play all possible roles, from the perverted outkast who meticously plans her next murder to the handsome detective that spends night after night trying to figure out who the murderer is. Are there actors/actresses who can play any given role?

What is the public watching right now? Mostly movies about heroes from comic books. Hereos here, heroes over there. So you're going to have young actors playing these roles. Can you imagine Hopkins as Constantine? Don't you already like him more as the Hannibal type of guy? Doesn't that say something about the actor?

I'm sorry but it seems as if I asked you to name actors much older than Keanu.

What about him?

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. Obviously you think the world of keanu. You asked me to name ppl who personifies my definition of a good acting not someone who would have been better for the role of Constantine. For a complex character such as Constantine I don't think Keanu would be suitable for the role.

Not exactly. I would choose Kevin Spacey over Keanu any day. So by that we can safely say that the latter is not the world to me.

But to say that Keanu is a bad actor and to later on say that he's "really good at playing action heros" seems contradicting to me.
