30 minute mix, wondering what people think

This is my first post on this forum. I've been mixing for about a year now. My friend sent me these records for my birthday and I put them together and I think it's pretty good. I was hoping to get some feedback on what I consider pretty good to see where I am in terms of my mixing. It's only 30 minutes so hopefully someone can get back to me on how they feel about it. The mp3 is on a school server, so it shouldn't take very long to download.

Beatmatching is good!

I dont know why you took "4 - Force Five - Feels Like I'm in Heaven (Vocal Mix)" The vocal in this mix isnt good. Complete other genre.

Some parts of tranceactions are a bit messy but they are good enough!

the rest of the tracks are very good.

So... well done and maybee a bit more eq playing when mixing and leave the vocal out of it

Thanks a lot. Yeah I don't have a good handle on keeping the volume level of the mix consistent. I thought the force five vocal mix would be more interesting than it turned out to be. Thanks for your feedback.

I heard your mix dude.

You have some good beatmatching skills but some of your tune selections are positively clangorous.
I don't mean it terms of what you like but in terms of how they sound together.

The other thing is that I would like to hear a longer mix as the first 30 mins is usually good on most mixes, it's after the first hour you start to tell the quality of a DJ.

As stated, your volume control could use a little polish.

As I said though, your beat matching is good and that's a great fundamental skill to be good at. Thats the basis of all DJing. After that you need to work on the finer points such as how tracks work with eachother and so on.

Nice going though, look forward to hear another.

clangorous? hehehe, that's a good word for it I guess. Thanks you for your support. The mix is 30 minutes because I only have 30mb of space on the server I'm keeping the mix. Maybe I'll drop the quality on the next one and see how much I can fit.

To defend my track selection though. My friend sent me these records for my birthday, so there wasn't much choosing. I just put them together and this is how they turned out.

On the whole I actually liked it and it's always good to have friends that give you music. Music is always good.

Would very much like to hear a mix that's longer and allows you to get into your flow more. I also feature DJs on my website if you are interested.

Thanks for both of your offers, I'll keep them in mind. I'm workin on building a decent record collection. It's difficult because there's only so much money to throw at vynil. So when I buy, I listen to it and I'll buy it if I like it, just that doesn't always coincide with buying records that'll sound good in the same mix.

Nem, that's a ridiculous website, with the robot and all that. I'll work on putting something a little longer together.

These forums are amazing, it's hard to imagine people listening and responding to something I'd put up here. Just saying thanks to both of you that have given feedback so far.
