Arrow Auto show 2005

Anybody going?...I went today with a friend to avoid the full price of admission & avoid the weekend crowds...Some pix I took

Volvo with sport package...THIS car was SOO beautiful

The Nissan 350Z

The new Mustangs...luv these cars

If ever I won the lotto & wanted to get a vintage muscle car?...It would be THIS car...the 1970 Daytona Super Bird (Only 500 we're made with a Hemi engine)....*heavy drool*

Mustang coupe & convertable

Something my friend noticed in the cut-away of the airbag of the Smart Car...

TONS of "E"

The new Jetta SUCKS. What a piece of trash. Everything about it rattles. That's how I judge a vehicle's quality, by how the door shuts. It always holds true. All 3 new Jettas that I sat in are worse than my mother's quickly-disintegrating 2000 Ford Mustang

I never understood the recent fascination with VWs. They are always overpriced and very often poorly built. It's all in the name, it seems. They haven't been solid cars since the MkII era.

Perhaps they are changing the look cause all VWs look the same
They cant have people mistaking a W8 Passat for a base Jetta

My friend & I we're pissed because we like totally walked by it by accident & so we didn't see any VWs ...and we missed the Lamborguini (sp?) display

Posted by j_spot on Feb-22-2005 07:13:

sure change the way it looks, but keep the styling european!

HAHHAHAH, that's hilarious you'd mention that. The new Jettas and new Passats are VERY VERY similar looking. VERY. It's uncanny, really.

ps what have they done to the golf? I havent seen pics of it.
(and yes, I own a 97 golf k2)

Posted by VERTiG0 on Feb-22-2005 07:18:

Again, me and my F430

Oh, hello there, Murcielago engine.

Mmmmmm.

Heyho, whats this! (Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG)

Oh snapparoo! F430 guts.

Maserati MC12 road-going version

Hot HRE wheels on that EVOLVE-tuned Volvo S40 (500 brake horsepower if I remember correctly from Volvo's press release), and the very odd slotted rotors it has.

At the cockpit of a $178,000 VW Phaeton W12 (who in the fuck would pay that kind of money for a VW, no matter how good it is? This is just an A8L with a VW badge).

I've got tons more, if you guys have a car you'd like to see, ask me and I'll post it if I've got one.

Thumbs down

Don't like the NEW styling of the Mitsubishi Eclipse

The back looks like the new Honda Accords

THIS is the style I luv

2.0L FSI turbo inline-4 putting out 200bhp in stock trim. Mind you, that'll be a $33,000 car. What the hell are you thinking, Bernd Pietschreider?

Oh, RobbyG., all Eclipses since the '99 GSX have been watered down girlie cars

Posted by j_spot on Feb-22-2005 07:28:

I dont like the lines on taht at all.
its like a golf/civic

bah. VW just lost me until next year(not that I was buying a new car anyways)

I test drove one in 2004 or 2003...I can't remember...I just loved how it handled & loved the styling...Not too keen on the new ones now

Now that's what i'm talkin' about. I am not a big fan of the s40 series, but the EVOLVE people made this into one kickass looking Volvo!

I'm seriously crying over the fact that you people like that Eclipse.

It's a lump of shit. Seriously.

PS:

...shitty Maybach S57 shots... I was creaming my pants at this time, this car is some $550,000 or thereabouts.

imo, VW probably makes the best heavy duty German cars (for their price). don't like the new designs though

OMG...I do the same thing and that's what i thought too!!! I closed the door and rattled like crazy. And so did other bits and pieces in the car. If it was better built, I'd definitely consider it cuz I really do like the materials used in the interior.

I told the guy beside me that it felt "cheap"...and he said "Yeah, cheaper than an Audi". (Meaning that he liked it. He said it felt solid).

The Volvo S40 on the another hand - a Solid car.

I was there on sunday after Marco V and broke the Ferrari display It was really nice, not sure if it was worth $20 for a ticket though...no student discounts either - blows!

Other than that was fun...I should put up my pics

I am amazed nobody put up the BMW M5 pictures...what's wrong with you people As soon as I get home I'll get to work on them!
