phynn's mix doesn't sound too horrid, sounds too much like a midi when theres no beat in the beginning tho

MIDI isn't a file type, it's a language. And MIDI suffixed files I've heard are just lower sound quality.

What's with the pickiness? It was quite obvious what he meant. If you still can't work it out, he implied it sounded like it'd been played using a standard midi wavetable... the sound that comes out when you play a .mid file in a media player, without any other synth attatched to it.

It's a file type in the same way that mp3 is, just it doesn't contain audio data.

WHY IS THIS TUNE EVEN MENTIONED when ferry corsten did this years ago and IMO which was the best remix of them all.

tiesto's remix is weak and sounds so generic. Why are so many people into this ?

Each to their own and all that but I'd say Ferry's mix was definitely the more 'generic' out of the two. Not saying that generic necessarily = less good, though.

i quite like this, the sidechained sounding synth is cool

HEY

This is a other part, w00t

I think it sounds dull compared to the original, all the energy is lost. Eager to hear the other mixes though

oh my goodness, are u deaf ?

there is STYLE in the corsten remix, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY nothing in the tiesto remix.

Yeah the same 'STYLE' used in virtually all his productions that year...

I think Tijs' is quite a weak effort too but purely as a club track, it works.

Omfg Im very curious to hear Fred Baker. His latest productions have been pure gold.

Posted by Kinde on Feb-22-2005 20:26:

Nah, can't say I expect much from this bunch. The sidechained synth sounds ok in this Phynn remix but otherwise it sounds a bit generic to me... I'd be very surprised if any of those other remixes brought anything new to the table...

Posted by GrimReaper on Feb-22-2005 20:35:

Hmm won't expect anything really purchase worthy from these new mixes. Phynn's remix sounded pretty *yawn* to me and Adagio For Strings has more than enough mixes already so why bother if one can't offer anything 'OMG' quality material... Most likely gonna miss this release.

Posted by trance-ecj on Feb-22-2005 20:47:

Although it's cool to get a different approach to a song and incorporate another artist's style even in cases where the original or whatever masterpiece you have (no, this doesnt mean Tiestos work was a masterpiece in any sense) cannot be topped, I believe this effort for Adagio is not needed. And besides, why are they releasing remixes of a remix???

Posted by KlePto on Feb-22-2005 20:57:

Are u guys kidding me Phynns' mix sounds freakin awesome. I think alot of u guys had ur minds made up as soon as you saw the word Tiesto on this board. Obviously can't give a firm opinion cause it's just a one minute sample, but it sounds good to me. Can't wait to listen to the other remixes!
