some 50 euro ($65) to spend on 2nd hand mixer - numark/gemini ..?
he guys,
as im starting now to get my complete dj booth complete (1 mixer, 2 simple cheap belt driven TT's and a stereo as amp. is what i want to start with), i have up till now 1 TT, a SoundLab dlp 12 belt driven.
my next move is to get a mixer. since most threads that already exist here of people asking for advice on purchasing a mixer from ~ 200 US$, im not in that category ... im very low n cheap, since im the kinda student that spends all his money (even when i have more debts than credits) on getting new 12" ... anyway, here in the netherlands, u have 'marktplaats', some kinda ebay site, very popular, where u can advertise for free, and bid on auctions, without having the duty to buy something u have bidded on when u arent sure anymore ...
once in a while i see the numark dm950 mixer, a 2channel mixer with bass/treble Eq etc., fader, volumelevel swithces etc ... on 'marktplaats', for some 50 euro (US$ 65) ... everytime i see it, i wanna buy it. although its second hands, lets say the people who sell it are thrustworthy. my question is; is such a mixer (for +/- US$65) a good mixer to start with dj-ing, purely to learn, not to take with me to gigs or whatever .... i have never mixed a set, so first i need to learn. in order to do that, is a numark dm 950 a good mixer to buy 2nd hand for some 50 euro ~ US$65?
otherwise, another option is a gemini ps626i which are sometimes for some 60 or 70 euro for sale... is that a good idea maybe?
there are many other possibilities to buy for not so much money, but what im especially looking for is an at least 2 channel mixer, with bass/treble/mid, fader, mic in, cue, mastervolume and channelvolume switches and the usual standard options, and also, kinda important, a nice look, like a new numark (dm 950 or other) has, or a gemini ps626i, or phonic ....
any ideas anyone? esp. dutch people can maybe help me with this, since they know 'marktplaats' ...
please name some possibilities for good 2nd hand mixer around 50 euro's (US$65) which have all the demands i just quoted (2 channel, bass/treble/etc...)
thnx in advance
thamaestro
i dont what current prizes there are ATM, but i own a PS626I and i love it. I can do everything i want with it, it is pretty reliable, been using it for over half a year now.. Its basic, but essentially all you need. And the quality is very good IMHO
what he said. the 626i is probably the only budget mixer i know thats actually any good (i.e. it doesnt fall apart in 3 months). you can find quite a few of these on ebay in fairly good nick for around $50. sometimes less.
ye bein using the 626i over a year now..it has started crackling a bit though..eventhough i always but something over it when im not using it.
