Nintendo Revolution

Ok after being announced there have been numerous quotes and rumours about it bringing a totally different way of playing games to the fore. Instead of basing their system on the best gfx they seem to want to change people perceptions of how we play games etc.

so wot do u lot think will be there great revolution? will it be control pads with movement sensors or some kind of new display system? and also do you think Nintendo can actually pull off the rather difficult task of bring something interesting and new in that will genuinely enhance games play or will it be some shite gimmick which just wont be utilised by the games producers?

Well... From what we know so far? Nintendo will have it's own little revolution within itself. The Nintendo Revolution will not have a D pad nor A & B buttons; A first for Nintendo as it leaves it's trademark controls.

still rumours atm but possible, Nintento have been notorious for innovative control pads from the get go. wot u think they will do instead then?

"None of the magazine's claims were substantiated by Nintendo, but given the publication's track record of accurate business reporting since 1913, we'd be surprised if Diamond's claims turned out to be false."

One thing for sure, Nintendo has annouced no online mode for Revolution.

Err... They kinda did, actually. In an interview with one of the higher-ups, it was made clear that Nintendo saw that the future of gaming was online. Expect Revolution to come with a built-in modem or broadband adapter.

Yea, I remember them emphasizing that the "community" will play an intergral part of the Revolutions success.

There's rumours going around that the controller will have gyro-sensitivity.

Also, apparently the DS is supposed to give a hint of what the Revolution will bring.

yet another nintendo system waiting to fail. nintendo needs to quit with the console business and just do games from now on. join with sony and you will succeed.

innovative controllers my ass. they always had crappy controllers and kiddie looky games. the controllers look like something you would buy at toys r us around the toddler section

but oh well they have the money to waste.

We're talking about the Nintendo Revolution, NOT why YOU find Nintendo to be a weak console producer.

I remember someone saying not to long ago from Nintendo, "touching is good, but feeling is better." So, I'm thinking there might be some strange force feedback device attached.

you fucking idiot! i think you will find that every controller they brought out have brought something new to the table that is now considered standard.

NES : First controller with a d-pad
SNES : First Controller with shoulder buttons
N64 : First Controller with an analog stick & First to utilise a rumble pack
GC : ok this time there was nothing really that innovative other than the style of controller with the large a button and everything else situated around to encourage simple controls for games.

so without nintendo ur precious ps controller probably wouldnt have any of these things, so keep ur mouth shut

Dude, there is no online capabilities for nintendo revolution. nitendo states that gamers dont like playing games online.

Really? Nintendo officially announced some of the Revolutions features? Like which ones??

NOTHING has been made official yet about the Revolutions features, especially the ones that are could (or could not) be "revolutionary".

Oh, and as for online gaming: Nintendo has time and time again said that Online isn't something that they see as a profitable medium for, now read this carefully, this generation. They have not denied online support for next generation, and if memory serves me right, I think I read an article somewhere that said that the Revolution will infact have a broadband adapter.

And you should know that Nintendo never hypes any of their machines, unlike Sony or MS. Just cause all the talk is about those 2 consoles, it doesn't mean Nintendo isn't putting any effort into their console. The only reason everyone is talking about the PS3 and Xbox2 is because both of their makers are, like always, talking shit and hyping their machines up. The same thing happend with PS2 when everyone from Sony rep's to Steven Spielberg were amazed at the "power" of the PS2 and how it could reproduce Toy Story-quality graphics in real-time ( ).

Hey, you got on my good side and i had admitted before that i was wrong. now you're getting on my bad side with your comments. no one died and made you god of gaming. there is a possibility that i was misinformed. dont fucking take everything litteraly either, give people a chance. next time, i wont be so nice in what i have to say.

I wasn't trying to offend you. If it sounded mean then I'm sorry. It's just that your last message seemed as though you were trying to convince me that I was wrong.

I'm no "G-d" but I am quite aware of the gaming world - both the business and the gaming aspects - and want to spread the information amongst all of you. I only post if I'm informed, though.

i'm really excited to hear what Revolution is going to be all about. i've loved nintendo since age 6; been much happier with them and their games over all the other consoles that have come (and gone), from coleco to sega to sony.

Not a problem. but in all honesty, nintend had mentioned that gamers didnt want online gaming. this was in one of the newest issues of EGM. Sorry if i sounded a bit shrewed.

EGM also says stuff like the ORIGINAL Mega Man is a playable character in Mega Man X5 and Sony's PSP will cost at least $400.



Don't get me wrong though. EGM is my favorite gaming mag.

Personally, if I don't read it in an official press conference release/company announcement then I don't believe it. I'll try to find the article regarding Nintendo's future sometime in the next few days.
