Ghost In the Shell

I'm a closet anime fan and the original was one of my favourite animes. I'm watching the second one right now and so far it looks promising, the visuals are amazing. It seams a lot less americanized than the first one did though.

Anyone else a fan of anime or these movies?

I saw that dubbed WHR on cartoon network and couldnt friggin believe. It also looks like they downgraded the quality of the picture.

Berserk was INSANE. I bought the Box of War. there NEEDS TO BE A SECOND SEASON.

The Samurai X -> Reflection etc movies of Kenshin are wild , still working on the series, up to episode 60 or something


loved Trigun too. Womanizing drunkard. I can relate to him hehe.

Berserk (hard to describe)

Blood of the Last Vampire

Blue Gender (tight idea, also explores human relationships)

Cowboy Bebop + Knockin on Heavens Door movie

Evangelion + End of Evangelion (Interesting series , im sure youve heard that end kind of sucked, but still worth the rest of the series to watch)

Escaflowne the movie (watch this and youll be perfectly sad. beautiful movie)

Ghost in the Shell

Hellsing (badass, short series, but insanely compressed badassness)

Jin-Roh (Youll only watch this a few times in your life, but each time...intense drama exploring psyche of a military killer and revolutionaries. Post WWII Japan, but this time the Germans had won.)

Kenshin (All the Kenshins...you better be tough when watching these...and alone)

Kenshin - Reminiscence [a.k.a. Kenshin - Tsuikohen]

Kenshin - Seisouhen

Last Exile (AMAZINGLY drawn)

Mononoke Hime

Naruto (Funny and creative. Everything just works. Ninja lad training to become a master.)

Ninja Scroll

Perfect Blue (Mind Screw)

Serial Experiments:Lain (another mind screw)

Spriggan (tight)

Trigun (drunk womanizer. some wild shit happens.The boys got skills)

Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust (beautiful and touching. With some crazy vampire fighting.)

Witch Hunter Robin

Wolf's Rain (really original idea. Wolves searching for paradise. Can look like humans to people though. Incredibly strong.)

this new one on Nickelodeon looks promising Avatar the Last Airbender

Blood the Last Vampire is one of my favs...its only 45 mins or so but its awesome

the miyazaki movies are always promsing - Spritied Away, Castle in the Sky and that new one whatever its called

and of course Cowboy Bebop

If you have not seen Akira yet, that should be your top priority. Such an excellent movie.

Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion are awesome series - definitely not to be missed.

And Love Hina is funny as well...just don't tell anyone I watch it.

Check out the anime created by the manga powerhouse group of CLAMP! : Chobits, X:1999, Cardcaptor Sakura [Japanese version]

Ranma 1/2 - fucking funny.

Kimagure Orange Road - watch this if you want to feel nostalgic

Samurai Champloo - IMO, still a very mysterious series... a bit slow overall but heaps of room for development.

Inuyasha - same creator as Ranma, although the TV series did not come to a proper conclusion, the first half of the series is really good.

COWBOY BEBOP 9.99 (wouldn't change anything, just about perfect)
Neon Genesis Eva 9.6 (really makes you think. plot, characters)
hoshi no koe 9.5 (23 minute ova god dam you, so fecking great)
FMP fumoffu 9.1 (the lighter side of anime, lots of laughs)
grave of the fireflies 9.3 (if you want to be depressed for the next week)

these are the had potential but something just went wrong, out of cash or imagination.

Hellsing 8.9 (they really need to come back to this)
Wolf's Rain 8.8 (ran out of steam)
Full Metal Alchemist 8.5 (great music, hopefully the movie saves it)
Last Exile 8.6 (just wasn't satisfied with it overall)
Scrapped Princess 8.7 (has its moments)
Witch Hunter Robin 8.0 (alright i guess.)
GTO 8.2 (a couple of laughs, and uhm interesting moments)
Berserk 8.0 (went into the WTF area in the end)
shingetsutan 7.5(vampire anime, not as good as hellsing)

the don't waist your time pile

scryed 4.5 (couldn't care for it)
X TV 3.0 (great intro song, thats about it. )
GunGrave 4.6 (bad anime overall)
Blood the last Vampire 4.0 (good for a few scares)

oh man FLCL is so weird...that show hmm i dunno heh. btw that 'new' miyazaki movie was thinking of is Nausica. and uhm what else...OH the Gundam series (esp gundam wing) was freakin great...i loved it!

FLCL is indeed weird as hell, but it's great. I initially skipped through the first two episodes and it threw me off, but eventually I was bored and just sat down and watched it... and I fucking love it. It's not just all random wackyness, it's a coming of age story. Worth checking out, at least.

Ghost in the shell 2 was just amazing.. a bit hard to follow with the bad english subtitles..but i managed to understand it in the end!

the whole scene with the magical playhouse was just amazing..

Ghost In The Shell 2 sucked IMO.

Cowboy Bebop was also pretty good. Not so much the movie.

I was in the process of watching Gungrave, but I guess I haven't gotten into the good parts yet .

except for Ishin Shishi no Requiem. that one just blew.
