Ah yes, my State Right-Wing Fundie Nutbag AG Doing Us Proud!

What a tremendous fucknut:

quote:
(snip)

Attorney General Phill Kline, a Republican who has made fighting abortion a staple of his two years in the post, is demanding the complete medical files of scores of women and girls who had late-term abortions, saying on Thursday that he needs the information to prosecute criminal cases. Advocates on both sides of the abortion issue said the broad investigation, backed by a judge's subpoena [NYT, how about providing a name here? Who is this scandalous judge?], is the first of its kind in pursuit of criminal charges, although the federal Justice Department has unsuccessfully sought similar records in its defense of a ban on a procedure sometimes used to end pregnancies after the first trimester that doctors call intact dilation and extraction and that critics call partial-birth abortion.
Kansas is one of 31 states that have passed laws to ban or restrict the procedure. But Kansas does not ban it outright, allowing such abortions if women's health is endangered. Mr. Kline's efforts to obtain records from abortion clinics follows his failed attempt last year to require the state's health workers to report any sexual activity of girls younger than 16, the age of legal consent in Kansas.

Health-care providers sued, and a federal judge granted a temporary restraining order. Mr. Kline's new investigation could yield similar records. His effort became public this week when two clinics whose records are being subpoenaed filed a brief in State Supreme Court to block what they called a "secret inquisition" and "fishing expedition" that threatened the doctor-patient privilege and women's constitutional rights.

Noting that personal details like marital status, race, employment history and emergency contacts are in the records, lawyers for the clinics asked, "How can a woman's method of birth control or prior history of abortions or use of drugs and medications be relevant?"

If anyone thinks he's really after rapists, stop drinkin' the Kool-Aid now. This guy's a nutbag of immense proportions, and I think even the Libertarians here should be a bit outraged.

I love my blood-Red state!

this AG is a first class bus-size pile of steaming dung. what a wonderful idea of jailing women after such a painfully difficult and traumatizing experience. how unchristian is this? **sigh**

maybe he's just posturing for a higher elected or appointed position. either way, this is a sick man.

That must be the "royal we".

Lol. You have been suspiciously absent lately, Occ, but not as much as some others like Imokurok and the like. Good to have you back. Did you happen to see Dorothy while you were flying over Kansas?

I went to Pagosa Springs/Durango Colorado for skiing. I was all excited to hear that I was going to land in Kansas. Saw a few twisters carrying away some farm houses, but that's pretty much all that happens in Kansas right ?

Anyway, I wanted to leave the airport to visit one of those midwest fundy churches that gets MisterOpus so riled up, but unfortunately I couldn't escape the airport bar .

Well according to our current law from that darn secular government you adhere to, this isn't murder.

Try again, champ.

Posted by electronicmaji2 on Feb-28-2005 21:34:

doesnt matter what the law says murder is murder

im sure back in the 1950s the law said the same things about blacks

im pretty sure you wouldve been against rounding up all the recorded lynchers back then and taking them to court eye?

Well actually there was a law against killing African-Americans back then, but that's wholly beside the point. The point being that our current law of Roe v Wade determines that the fetus is not constitutionally protected enough to supercede a woman's right to choose. Therefore it is not killing another human being.

That's not to say I agree with it - but that is the law nevertheless.

So try again. And BTW, are you still adhering to that secular government, or are we entering your "Christian" government Twilight Zone again?

Posted by electronicmaji2 on Feb-28-2005 23:17:

killing is killing no matter what gray areas of the law are

the law is wronng and if we have to declare a national state of emergency and martial law and send our soldiers into the white house to rewrite the law we will we could do it easier

then what

it would be all nice and legal and you would be happy

how about you try that again

ooh chakalaka

well, they are not yet developed humans when you "kill" them. Thats why its not illegal, as it is not illegal to kill pigs or whatever.

I had to go out to Kansas once for about a 9 week school over in Ft Leavenworth, but resided off post in Lansing. KC struck me as a backward cowtown, and I've been in a few since I used to live right up north in Council Bluffs, IA. Omaha, for instance puts the place to shame. Was happy to be done with the worthless schooling and go back to Atlanta where I was stationed. Seemed I moved about 30 years forward in time on the drive back home alone. I must say though that KC impressed me far more than the grunge in St Louis.

There's no gray area with that law - it's black and white. Sorry.

quote:

Well that's cute and pretty arbitrary, but it's what separates our country from the fascist regimes that are run by extremist religious groups. Sorry, but you're really not making a lot of sense here.

And you haven't brought any argument to the table as to why a fetus supercedes the rights of a woman, and in certain cases such as Bush's partial birth abortion law, supercedes the LIFE of the woman.

then what

Huh?

In all seriousness, what was your point again? I'm really having a hard time translating your message here. Could you please reword in English for everyone?

And weren't you going to ignore my messages anyway? Are you going back on your word now?

You know, it's stupid dumbfuck racist comments like this that walk the line of possible suspension. For you to have such sentiments not only implies your complete misunderstanding and distortion of history, but also aptly demonstrates utter bigotry and racism completely. Pretty damn sad, but be warned that racism is not tolerated here. The mods are very acute on this point.

Well I guess I wish you'd have a few extra neurons working upstairs, but we can't always get what we wish for. Tough luck.....

I really hate my state (I live in Kansas as well). Theres so much stupid fucking bigotry in our state. Fred Phelps, is coming to our fucking town the 14th of March. For those of you who dont know who he is, he can be seen regularly in Topeka, Kansas holding signs that usually read similarly to, 'God hates fags'. He's comign to picket several things. One being that a town nearby that is in our school district had a day for thier spirit week (week before homecoming) that had all the kids cross dress. Well, the damn day got snowed out so no one even showed up in drag or anything which should have ended it there but no. And then hes also coming to protest the fact that theres a new gay club in our school. Now, I wont say most peopel around here arent homophobes lol, but they arent the kind of people to really be violent or do stupid shit to people because they are gay or some shit. For the most part, they are open minded about stuff, and so, they are gonna go picket Phelps picketing :P. A lot of people are saying theyll probably go in drag and picket lol. Should be funny. I'll try to get some pictures if I can. I'm thinking about taking making a sign like 'Phelps is a phag!' or something lol. I dunno. My town just kinda stands out against most of the other smaller towns in Kansas. Clay County is pretty close to the most conservative county in the state and yet its very diverse. Me being a liberal, you'd think id get my ass kicked regularly but people seem to enjoy the debates lol. Kansas is wierd...
