Tranceawards 2004 Results.

from memory from last night at slinky:

Best dj: Paul van Dyk
Best track: Whiteroom - Whiteroom
Best producer: Paul van Dyk
Best remixer: Tiesto (i think)
Best label: Vandit
Best event: Global Gathering
Best live act: Nu NRG
Best new producer: Adam White
Best shop: Chemical
Best website: Trance,nu
Best club: Cream@Amnesia
Best resident: can't remember but the top 3 were Armin, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto
Mixmag future hero: Adam Sheridan

some pretty crappy results especially, best producer, best remixer, best label and best resident.

awards ceremony was so lame it was quite funny. they stopped the music for about 15 minutes, so funny watching people just coming up as the music stopped

that is the problem with democracy. i was talking to the bloke that ran it and he said they were surprised how many votes they got from the US which probably explains some of those results.

What the fuck has tiesto even remixed this year?

Adam Sheirdan is the best mixmag future hero by a mile, that was the only catergory were you couldnt put anything you liked thank god otherwise someone like tiesto would have probably won

Err... can somebody remind me what were the remixes that earned him this award?...

Posted by Atari Addict on Feb-28-2005 19:28:

This proves my theory that award shows in general mean dick in the actual genre/industry/catagory/etc. Half the people who vote on these things know nothing about it, so why not vote for whoever you've actually heard of is their reasoning.

these awards were a complete & utter mess. We were invited to host an award, we replied, then heard nothing, so i sent an email a bit later asking why & they claimed not to have had our email reply (which was bcc'd to me) so offered us an award still saying they really wanted us to help them, so we did all the promotion wor on the website, heard nothing, 2 nights before got offered tickets but by then any respect i had of trackitdown had totally gone & we just ignored them, a very poorly arranged publicity stunt imho

hehe it got to the point where we couldn't be arsed, you kinda feel like the stuff they're feeding you isn't really as true as they made out. From many reviews i've seen also, it looks like the whole thing didn't go down great with the clubbers, but they tried, just a bit of a silly idea imo, holding them in a big room full of people wanting music
